Just wondering.......when I sent my I-751 to the VSC back in July of 2008 (heavy sigh), I sent the 1040 forms prepared by our CPA for the 2006 and 2007 joint income tax returns. Am I likely to get an RFE requesting the IRS official tax transcripts? The USCIS instructions for completing the petition do not specifically say to send the official transcripts but it seems that's what most people do. If the USCIS was very precise in detailing what they need, they could save everybody a lot of time and guesswork.

At the rate VSC is processing I-751's, I'm assuming I'll be filing for naturalization before I get my 10 year GC. So frustrating and such a money grab for the government. Do I sound bitter?

Stay strong y'all,

Jo

We did the same, actually I made all the fricking photocopies of the H&RBlock filled out forms with all the attachments, which were 44 pages for 1 year, and 40 something attachments for the following year specifying the numbers of attachments in the cover letter sent to the Immigration (just in case they might say they didn't receive this or that.........which actually it doesn't matter because they have always the right to say that they want whatever, even if it was already sent to them  .....), so I hope that it's gonna be ok.

And you don't sound bitter at all.......we are all frustrated, and I think we're right & we have the right for being like that........especially with all the money we paid & we will pay..........

Good luck for your journey!!!!! :star:

I did the same. I sent in the forms printed off after doing our joint tax returns via TurboTax as part of the I-751. But since then I have also noticed some people were getting RFE's asking for official IRS transcripts.

So I have started to collect info in a separate file in case of an RFE, including official IRS transcripts. I'll keep it all to one side just in case it's needed. If it isn't needed, I'll still use the contents of the file for my N-400 application in March.
