First I and to say Thanks! for this site and this forum

I am starting my search for the best way to work getting married to my fiancee that lives in the Philippines. From my research and a friend that has just went through and successfully completed there journey to marrage to apply here in the states with the use of the I-129f petition. And this site am sure will be very usefull with that process as I have allready read and seen many helpfull suggestions to complete this process.

My fiancee however has been told buy some of her friends and family members that it is faster to just have me take her to the US Embasy in Manila to start the process. Anyone know if this is true or just wishfull thinking on the part of my fiancee? I have meet on 4 seperate occations starting in July 2006 to as recently as October of 2009. We have a bussiness together in the philippines as well. Is just a simple internet cafe but helps to suport her and wll continue to help with her family in the future. I am sure I will have many more questions along the way of our journey to get married but for now anyone know whats the best most efficent way to proceed?

Again Thanks and best of luck to all in there journeys

just wishful thinking it can be done but you would need to live in the Philippines and then you could. It is called a direct consul filing (DCF). You can check out the info in the guides above to see if you do qualify but at first glance probably not.

Thankyou for the information. I was pretty sure it would not be so simple. I did read over the Direct Consul filing you directed me to and your correct I do not qulify for that process. So I will be tapping this great site for some time to come for the information I will need to file our petition. Thanks again for the quick responses to my question.

Two reasons you don't qualify for DCF. The first is that you are not a PI resident but equally important is that you are not married. DCF is only for a spouse petition.
