Thank you again. My office is Detroit. I don't see a lot of people going through this office.

Is it possible to reschedule the interview? I may be travelling at the time of mine.

Are you talking about a K1 as your status says or US Citizenship? We need a bit more info before we can help you.

Hi,

I know my user k1spain may be confusing. My question was related to citizenship. I joined this forum at the time of my K1, almost 5 years ago...

Time flies!!!

Then maybe its time to update your timeline and change your "filing for" from K1 to Citizenship.

To answer your original question, yes, it is possible to reschedule your interview date. When you receive the letter giving you your interview information, it will also give you information on how your can reschedule your interview (basically, In writing, explaining reason for request, immediately on receiving the notification.

I personally had to reschedule my interview, and it was not even mentioned at the actual interview. One thing I would recommend is read that letter very carefully for where to send your request - make sure you include any room number etc that is mentioned. Also, ensure you get delivery confirmation for the request you send. In my case, I may have forgotten to put that room number on the address (there were two separate places the address was listed, one had the room number, one did not), and I received a "please explain" when the letter did not reach my file, and I did not attend the original interview.

Another written request explaining the situation resolved the problem, and my interview was rescheduled. Probably was to much information, but, other than the delay there is no reason not to request an interview reschedule - provided, of course, you have an adequate reason,

N400 at California SC, Field office- Los Angeles

Sep 3, 2007 Application Mailed

Sep 12, 2007 - Priority date

Nov 9,2007 - check cashed

Nov 20,2007 - NOA1: "expect to be notified within 425 days of this notice",

Jan 10, 2008 - fingerprints appointment (letter lost due to mailing address receipted incorrectly)

Feb 7, 2008 - fingerprints done (took about 10 min - as a walk-in)

Sept 8, 2008 - Interview date (letter received Jul 18) - rescheduled at my request

Jan 6, 2009 - Interview date

Feb 26, 2009 - Citizenship Oath

*online status "case received Oct 29", no touches showing.
