Hi All,

You will pay travel tax which cost 1,620php only if you purchased the ticket online like cheapoair, orbitz, vayama, airlines website, etc.,But if you purchased the ticket at the travel agency here in the Philippines...travel tax is included when you pay them and all you need to pay is the terminal fee which is cost 750php at the airport.

Hello, I read some older topics on VJ but wanted to check with recent travelers to see if anything had changed (higher tax, fees, etc.).

What docs are needed at the airport for an e-ticket? I purchased the tickets from expedia with credit card so does she need a copy of the card? Does she need to go by the airline, NWA, before the flight?

Also, I've read the travel tax is 1650 php and the airport fee is 750; is this still the same?

Are there porters available to help with bags?

This link has some good info but I'm not sure if it is current.

My hubby bought me an eticket twice already and all i had to show was the email with the confirmation #(from the site where you bought the ticket) to the airline office at the airport. Also you don't have to pay the 1600 travel tax if you tell them that you are not working. I should have paid P3,200 for me and my son but did not so i only paid 800 for both of us instead of paying the P3,200. also the 750 which is the airport fee.

Hello,

Thank you for all the replies. Having the combined knowledge of VJ members available has resolved so many of my questions in the past, present and hopefully again in the future. I'm going to send a copy of my cc per Rocky_nBullwinkle's post. There is just too much at stake to be delayed for not having that available.

If I were purchasing tickets again, I'd probably go through a local (Philippine) travel agent instead of expedia. Expedia is ok until you have an issue that requires some customer service. Customer service just isn't something their employees understand.

I am a bit scared to send a copy of my credit card to a internet cafe. I thought it was only PAL that wanted that?

When she go to the counter to get a boarding pass, she just need to show the email regarding the confirmation of E-ticket.. No need to show the credit card or anything. Once she gets the boarding pass, and she is ready to go inside, and check in, there is another counter where she will need to have pay the counter for travel Tax before they allow her to get inside.

Source:

I always travel with E-ticket back and forth to US/Asia/Europe.... they just need the confirmation number to verify details.

The bottom line is always have a pocket money when leaving the country.

Hi, there! I will be leaving on Feb5 via Northwest airlines. My fiance bought my -eticket in direct ticketing in Northwest too I was just wondering if my travel tax and other fees are already there. He paid it through master card, Do I still need the copy of her card? and passport for identity ? What fees do I still have to pay?

Hi netscot,No you don't need your fiancee's card copy.My fiancee bought my ticket too direct at Continental Airlines ticketing website and NAIA didn't ask me for his card copy. And nope, travel tax and terminal fee are not included yet in your ticket because your fiancee purchased your ticket online.

When Im at the airport..they just looked at my e-ticket itinerary, passport with visa and cfo stamped and they told me to go to Continental counter and they will ask u there if you are travelling K1 and they will ask your brown envelope (visa packet) they will check it if its open or not. They will tell you there to go to travel tax counter after you check-in your baggages then proceed to Immigration..you can still go out of the airport after you pay travel tax and terminal fee when your plane is not on board yet. That's what I did.

Happy Trip.

The credit card/passport issue for e-tickets seems only to apply to Philippine Airlines, from what has been said here.

Rocky: "Baby, are they still mad at us on VJ?"

It also applies to Hawaiian Air - and even worse...Hawaiian requires that the name on the credit card match the name of one of the passengers!! So, we are going to just pay cash for PAL...no credit card issue. Also, when buying from PAL you get the local discount...I can buy the ticket here for $300 less than my fiance can buy it online :).

Yep, my wife is flying on Hawaiian Air and I got an additional credit card issued in her name and sent it to her. They have the most direct route to Seattle and good prices on one-way tickets (got hers for $596).

I bought my Sweetheart her one way ticket in USA along with my ticket. I am going back over and staying a while with her and her family and then we will travel back here together. We will be departing Manila on NW Airlines February 24. Every time I have been in the Phils I only had to pay the 750 departure fee so maybe the tax is only in Philippine people, no problem I will find out soon enough. We will go together for her to get her CFO also. Not sure which place we wil get CFO at.
