Well, our 90 day 'window of opportunity' is here.

We've been lucky so far in our journey and never received any RFE's.

So this is a really dumb question....

The NOA1 - the 'extension letter' - is it issued before any RFE's?

Or do you have to satisfy RFE's to receive the extension letter?

Becca the NOA1 is the first thing sent so as long as the form is complete and the money is included and you are within your 90 day window you should get the extension letter followed by the biometrics appointment.

Keeping my fingers crossed for no RFE's for you both.

It looks like we will need the extension letter for Wes to get his State ID card updated beyond his greencard date. That's why I was wondering.

If for some reason the extension letter doesn't come or the green card is about to expire before it comes you can also make an INFOPASS appointment and get the I-551 stamp placed in his unexpired passport that also acts as proof. Good luck!
