Greetings everyone,

We filed for our AOS about 20 days ago (all three permits - AOS, I-765 and I-131). Today, we just found out that her Grandmother passed away, and as you can imagine, it's really important for her to be back in Mexico for the funeral.

Does anyone know how we can contact immigration services to request a super-expedited advanced parole for travel?? Thanks for any and all ideas -- in the meantime, we're going to contact our local congressional office to see if they can support.

Many thanks,

--Dave

Make an InfoPass appointment at the nearest district USCIS office and take a copy of all your documents you sent in with you.

You will need some form of proof of death to take with you as well.

I got emergency AP when I needed to return to Canada because my Mother was in the hospital and I had power of attorney for her and needed to find a home for her after she was released from the hospital. I took a letter from her doctor (which I had faxed to me) with me to the district office and got my AP documents the same day, while I waited. I had to wait for quite a long time, but I got the documents just the same.

Good luck.

Hey there,

I'm looking at the InfoPass site, but there's no option for expedited request... is this a "Case Services follow-up appointment - If it has been over 45 days since you contacted NCSC and have not received a response to your inquiry. You must bring the Service Request ID Number related to your inquiry to the appointment." or a "Case Processing Appointment - If you received a notice to go to your local office for further case processing."...?

Thanks for any help!!!

This has to do with Case processing, so select that.

Thanks for your help, everyone. We have:

1) Called the Congressman's office (CT; Jim Himes, very nice people!) who will help us expedite

2) We're going to obtain the right documents from Mexico to show need to travel (get them notarized, etc)

3) Will translate and notarize said documents

4) We have an appointment with the USCIS for Tuesday and post about what happens
