Applied for K1 but now we will marry in her country first

Hey I really need some help with this one. We originally planned to just have a ceremony in her country and only get legally married in the USA. However her family wants a catholic wedding and their priest will not do the wedding unless we have gone to the court and made it official. We did not know this stuff a few months ago when we filed for the K1. So we have the K1 pending right now, and we will have to be legally married in Brazil before she actually uses the visa.

Can anyone help me with this? I am really confused. Thanks

If you marry in her country - she will no longer be your fiancé (obviously she'll be your spouse/wife) and the K1 is only intended for those who are not already married and plan to marry in the US.

With this in mind - your other options are a spousal visa (K3 or CR-1).
