Hachemi is way into the cologne too. And the very first thing he bought after arriving in the USA was some Raybans and Armani Code cologne. He still has the raybans. I dont touch them because the way I am with my cheap sunglasses, I dare not handle his. lol.

I have a funny about his cologne. Not long after he came to the US, he went to the dentist. He had sprayed on a substantial amount of Armani Code. I waited in the lobby. Anyway, they called me back after they had examined him and he said to me, "That women said she likes the smell of my "colon". He said he was confused. How can she smell that? Then he said, "after a little while I realized she was talking about my "perfume". I laughed and told him she said cologne, not colon.

I will never forget seeing the guys walking around Irbid with their fauxhawks that probably took an hour to prepare, and the skintight jeans and jackets. square toed dress shoes and collars flipped up

I was just like...really guys?

They all looked like they were getting ready to be discovered by some euro designer that would wisk them away to the catwalk.

Thank goodness my husband isnt THAT into it. lol

He loves clothes and shoes, and knows designers but i couldnt take that douche bag hair that they all had there.

Every once in a while he will tease me and flip his collar up and ask if i like it

Too funny...now that you mention that...I do recall seeing the same thing in Irbid when i was there, but I was too engrossed in my man to pay it too much of attention. I wish i was there now! Anyone have any kenafa?? :(

I think we all know about my guy. He professed to love Lagerfeld and Bijan cologne. Bought it, he never puts it on. Refuses to wear deodorant (but he showers everyday).

In Iran, he was more fastidious. Here in USA, this has declined. I don't know if this has to do with his job which he is on call 24/7.

We had a thread here a year or so ago about how MENA men are a little..............almost metrosexual in the way they dress, care for themselves. I never really paid attention to it until just recently. At first my husband sure put a little more cologne on than the average men that I work with do but I figured that was just him and heck he smells awesome so who am I to complain?

He's vigilant about conditioning his hair and OMG I don't know what he'll do when the conditioner that he brought from Cairo runs out. Apparently nothing in the world compares to this stuff. I've used it and it is good but I'm not that picky plus I wear hijab so who the heck cares if my hair is all pretty half the time.

My dad gave him tons of jackets when he got here. Spring/Winter ones and good ones from Eddie Bauer and North Face. Well since he's been here he bought two, I just got him one yesterday and he just told me he wants two more. Me/ I have two jackets, like my dad. One for spring and one for fall/winter. Hubby needs one for on the way to work, out with the kids and me, out for errands, out for a night on the town, etc. Different jacket for different occasions.

Cream. His skin has been very dry but instead of using the Vaseline Intensive Care stuff he went with me to Sephora and is now hooked on Jack Black products. (Are they by the actor Jack Black or is it a coincidence?) I just put on his handcream and it IS very very nice but I just giggle at the thought of him having a costmetic line that he likes. Usually it's women who love MAC or Clinique, etc. I never hear of a man saying at a bar with his buddies, "guys have you checked out the new eye cream from Max Factor? It's FABULOUS!!!"

So is your guy very fussy when it comes to this stuff?

this thread is hilarious! Ali does things like that too. The bathing in cologne is okay sometimes, but members of my family are allergic to perfume so he's going to have to cut down. It's all about the name brands. I am the complete opposite and shop like I can't afford anything. I don't mind hitting up thrift stores and markdown chains because you wash it anyway! I have an infamous pair of jeans from kohl's that i got for 0.67cents on markdown! :)

Ali is Mr. button down, belt (with shiny buckle of course), dress shoes (that look like gondolas for his feet), and the meticulous facial hair is always in check. He even threads his cheeks for stray beard hairs. I was a bit surprised by that one. If he can learn to do eyebrows I'll be happy!

He is never without his Adidas flipflops either in the house. I like the way he dresses and shops as well, he even let me talk him into a pink and a lavender sweater! lol.

He's also one of the most masculine guys I've ever met though so it's a strange combo. when i met him he had a suitcase from three years prior full of really hideous sweaters from home, we had to throw them all out because they were so musty bleck! Glad he got out of his striped Bill Cosby phase lol.

However, unlike many of the girls on this thread, my fiance cannot pick out clothes for me. I cannot trust him to because he will buy the skankiest, most revealing clothes on the racks, thinking it's "adorable." No. lol. First of all, he has no understanding of my body shape, secondly, I'm not wearing hot pants and a tube top under any circumstances lol.

-----I will admit that he does jewelry and makeup okay on his own (with the exception of the bronzer that he bough once that would better suit Beyonce than my pasty white skin. )

I love that well-kept boy of mine!

This sounds similar to my husband. He's so unlike most of the men mentioned in this thread. He's very no nonsense. He doesn't know the first thing about designers and doesn't care. He owns like 4 pairs of shoes and cheap "ship ships". Two pairs of the shoes are actually work boots, lol. Nearly all his clothing is from Old Navy and Marshalls. He cuts his own hair and doesn't wear gel. His routine consists of shower, shave, deodorant, brushed teeth and that's it. I like that I get to be the girl and we're not competing for the bathroom or the mirror. He was like this in Egypt and he's still the same. I love that he's comfortable with who he is and isn't out to impress everyone.

I FINALLY got Wael to buy another pair of shoes! He is so frugal (not cheap) and it really takes

alot to make him buy something. He ran out of cologne that he brought from Egypt and cannot get him to buy more. He also cuts his own hair (he doesn't care for the barbers here), and looks for gel that will last him!! He has two heavy jackets but I had to buy him a lighter one for here, and of course the first thing he did was look at the price. I told him "IT'S OK!!"

He uses my Aveeno lotion and loves it.

His dress is awesome! He's tall and built like a matador. He really could be a male model.

He is just a very humble person. I love this quality in him, but would love for him to buy something!

Omg, my man is so far from this too.. He dresses like an American rap dude. To the point where he was even asked for his passport to check into a hotel in his own country! Never without his Nike Air Force Ones, a New Era hat, and some bigass oversize shirt and jeans.. shaves when he feels like it and has a ponytail down to his butt.. :D And I love him that way!

Pretty boys/metrosexuals = too much work = me having to try to hard. I don't like having to compete with a man in regards to being pretty. Plus, I like the manly/scruffy/badass look.
