I WISH my husband was like this. He's quite the opposite. I can't wait to get him here and get my hands on him and fix him up. He wont wear cologne - he doesn't like "chemicals".

LOL - sounds like me... I have allergies and don't like most colognes and aftershaves because they make me sneeze. Bay Rum is a nice, natural aftershave, really old school. I do like essential oils and products made with them. I buy oils from the Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab - they have hundreds of different blends. They even have one called 'Kathmandu' - I bought it and I think it would smell nice on Govi since it smells mostly like cedar. My favorite scent on a man is sandalwood -mmmmm....

Ohhh I never thought of essential oils. Maybe he would use that. That's not really a chemical.

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

I gave up , and thanked ALLAH the day he got a job running the mens department at a major Department store in the mall.yah its a 40 min drive, but he now has about a 5,000 dollar wardrobe for less than 1,000 dollars paid. He has good rappoir and 25% discount at the cosmetics counter and gets creams for him and me as well. and all cologne perfume anyone wants. 10m prs of shoes, two leather jackets, one winter jcaket, wool jackets short and full lenght on et an 30 suits 200 ties oh my..hahaha and he manages to save 1,500 a month in the bank wow he come a long way in few yrs. at least they are willing to go out and work and survive in this environment.

only one person in town can cut his hair. jeesh

my husband would lOVE that job!!! He applied to a beauty supply store in the area and was outright told by the owner that he won't hire him because he's a man! Well he also applied to Macy's in the fragrance department and I swear that's also why they didn't hire him even though they had the good sense not to voice it outloud. SEriously though he knew more about the perfumes at the counter than the woman working there did!

lol toooooo funny ok mine has come with 5 coats and I think perhaps 5 pairs of shoes and 3 colognes and 2 hair gels. lol I giggle once in a while now cause he has these "name brand" underwear like Dolce Gabana is in the underwear buisness

I love the "how do I look?" or "do I smell good?"

I can't remember when I asked that perhaps I should ask more

This is a funny thread! I don't think my fiance really fits into this "metrosexual" category as much as some of your guys; when we first met he had some serious dreadlocks and a beard going...he grew up on the coast a bit of a surfer boy. His dreads are gone now, replaced with his black, thick, natural curls that I LOVE. When he lets it go, he's got a major FRO. It's so cute. But come to think of it, he does love, and I mean love, his Ray-Ban sunglasses. He nearly had a heart attack when I dropped them once. I learned to let HIM handle the Ray-Bans; you'd think they were made of diamonds that way he cherishes and handles them. He doesn't go shopping a lot--he's a bit of a hippie like me--but he does have style and looks quite dapper and handsome when it's the time and place for it. Oh, only six more weeks until I get to see him and his precious Ray-Bans!

Hubster was metrosexual when he came. He was into his very expensive clothes and glasses. He has always bought his cologne from a local guy in Egypt that made it from the oil. His hair had to be perfect and he would say I'm an attorney I have to look like one. I think staying home with the baby kind of turned him into the average American looking guy or you could say mister mom. A man that once would never go out into public without a dress shirt, dress pants and dress shoes now wears jeans and what he calls coochies (gym shoes, lol). I even caught him wearing his house pants once to Walmart. What a shame that would be in Egypt, he said. But he said you Americans will wear anything anywhere, guess I agree. I'm sure if he got a white collar job he would go right back to his old way of dressing. Funny thing is, when I dropped him off at the airport last Sunday, he was in dress pants, dress shirt and dress shoes. I guess he must have to live up to his old reputation at home.

Coats were not the issue until last nite ha now he tells me i just bought two more coats. I ask why when you already had enough to be fine. I bought for the cold there, do you know the cold here? i told you those u had would be fine, now how can you wear/pack/carry the two you had and the two you just bought? AND when he gets here he wants to get WARM shoes and maybe some sport also plus he already said he will bring like 4/5 pair. So i warned him about the weight now what he finally does is anyones guess

lol.. i do have to say it was my husband that suggested i cut my long hair to short shoulder length and it looks wonderful. He knows his style (less the desire to put his football team penants on my wall)

I kinda like having a guy who cares what he looks like when he walks out the door (hair, clothing, shoes, cologne, and, yes, even the sunglasses). On the other hand, I really like that he cares what I look like all of the time. He notices.

Ahmed is not like that. He has a specific hair gel but it is sauve so not expensive and he uses the AXE bodyspray also not expensive and smells good.

We have only bought one pair of jeans and one pair of Sneakers for him since he got here as far as clothing goes.

But he is sure his hair and clothes are changed and he is looking good before going out...even if just down road to walmart.

However, he did buy a Tom Tom and a MP3 player when he first got here. He also got an electric shaver for Christmas

He is definitely the thrifty one who saves money. I do not spend alot on me but I am bad to spend it onmy daughter.

cologne...whats with the 10 sprays? I think it comes from living in a country where after 10 minutes out in the blazing sun, you get this "stench" about you so if u wear more cologne, it masks it longer...???maybe???

Mine has very few clothes but his "style", if you will, is sporty. He likes basic t-shirts with no pictures and jeans BUT looks fantastic in a pair of slacks and button up shirt..*drool* He doesn't have many clothes or shoes, he likes creams/lotions but isn't particular NOR has he used any in a while. He HATES shopping and spending needless money although if it pertains to him, or is something he wants, "it's not that expensive". I love him quirks and all though :)

Hubby used to be much more concerned about clothing brands, even if it meant buying knock-offs. He's cut down on the styling too, as well as the amount of cologne. I think I've rubbed off a lot on him over the years. To me, being clean, stylish, and presentable is important, but there are ways to do it without spending too much money or going overboard on the designer label stuff.

My husband has toned down the cologne a bit also, and he doesn't use as much hair gel as he did when he arrived, but he still likes both. He also buys Axe antiperspirant and body spray, which I like very much. He doesn't spend a lot on clothes, but he's good at picking out something inexpensive that looks good. After a few months, he gets tired of something, tosses it into a box to send to his brothers if it's still in decent shape, and buys something else. I'll wear the same thing for years -- the sweater I'm wearing now is probably eight years old -- and it probably wouldn't hurt me to update my own closet.

lookin good, smellin good I LIKE IT

but really only goes the extra mile when working and going out

names brands seem to be a must and he would rather spend a ton of money on ONE good quality, name brand item

than a little money on something generic

he didnt come with much and doesnt ask for much

i look forward to the time when i can turn him loose and he can go on a shopping spree for himself!

He deserves it.

Even tho it is freezing he still dresses as if it were Morocco...light sweatshirts and even sandals

but usually we are going from point A to point B

I like his style too, even though I havent quite figured it out...I find it hard to buy for him

and he does goes nuts for shades B) !!
