I'm the one who never bothers to buy clothes, and he chides me for that. Sometimes when we're out, he'll grab something off the rack and say, "Here, get this for yourself." It's usually a good choice, too.

same here!!! Whenever I used to go to the mall it was to find clothes for my kids or for him or ANYONE ELSE but me! Just the other day the four of us were at Macy's and he bought me my first ever pair of leather gloves. OMG I love them and they are Ralph Lauren and stylish. He's quite the bargain hunter too and always looking for that name brand. It's almost like I'm getting a MENA eye for the American Girl guy/girl type thing with him. lol

Exactly! Now that he is here, I have more clothes because he either buys them for me or talks me into getting some when we're out. He's sooooooooo much better at picking out clothes and I will send him by himself to pick out an outfit for me and I am never disappointed!

He grew up with his family having a big clothing and shoe business so he is no stranger to having all the clothes he could want and more. He brought back 2 BIG suitcases of clothes from Morocco the last time he went because he doesn't like the styles here in the US. Thank goodness, they are much cheaper to buy there than here!

"True freedom and the end of suffering is living in such a way as if you had completely chosen whatever you feel or experience at this moment. This inner alignment with Now is the end of suffering. Is suffering really necessary? Yes and no. If you had not suffered as you have, there would be no depth to you as a human being, no humility, no compassion. You would not be reading this now. Suffering cracks open the shell of ego, and then comes a point when it has served its purpose. Suffering is necessary until you realize it is unnecessary." Eckhart Tolle

I dont get too crazy with primping but I do have the things I cant live without.

If my husband has the means....he will go all out and have no problems primpin himself

I.E. facials and waxing of eyebrows.

Ohh I forgot to mention the eyebrows & stuff! Mine'll go with me to those little nails/eyebrows places and get himself a mani and a pedi and an eyebrow wax! He has that poor little Chinese lady *earning* that $10 too for his eybrows....it takes at least 30 mins to wax his eyebrows and he won't leave until they're perfect to his liking.

He's a good little spa buddy tho....like a girlfriend and a husband all wrapped up into one :P

That line made me laugh out loud coz I was thinking the same thing about my hubby as I read this thread! It was so funny to see someone "say it out loud" My husband loves to go shopping more than anyone I know. He is BIG on cologne and knows more about designer lines of clothing and acessories than I ever will. His grooming items compete with mine for bathroom space. It bothers him not a bit to hang out with me at the salon or spa. It's amazing that they can have this side to them and still remain very masculine. It is like having a girlfriend and a husband wrapped up into one. I love it! :)

Govi is pretty low-maintenance - he does have a particular soap he loves (Liril) and before I left Nepal the last time I bought a few bars so the smell would remind me of him... The Indian stores sell it too so he'll be able to get it once he's here. He does the gel thing too though his hair is very short except on top. I love the way Nepali and Indian guys wear white shirts with collars even when guys here would wear polos or Tshirts - Govi wore a white shirt and regular leather shoes when we were trekking but he said he was comfortable. He only has a total of maybe 10 shirts(at least for summer) though I bought him some shirts and a nice pair of jeans when I was there for his birthday.

My own wardrobe on the other hand..... I think G will have a heart attack when he sees how many salwar suits I have - the last time I counted it was about 250... :o They are so collectible though and we really need different fabrics and colors for different seasons unlike Nepal where it doesn't get below 40(though G says it's 'so cold')

Not so much clothes or anything, but along those lines:

Im redocorating and my husband made me promise to "save" some for us to do together. He's as into it as I am right now! I am LOVING it hee

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

My hubby is pretty much the same as others with cologne, body wash, jeans, shirts, sunglasses, hats, etc. However, his addiction is his barber who he can NOT live without. Took him 10 guys to find the right guy and will be sad when we leave here this year! Can you believe he's trying to convince the guy to move back East too?:whistle:

I WISH my husband was like this. He's quite the opposite. I can't wait to get him here and get my hands on him and fix him up. He wont wear cologne - he doesn't like "chemicals".

LOL - sounds like me... I have allergies and don't like most colognes and aftershaves because they make me sneeze. Bay Rum is a nice, natural aftershave, really old school. I do like essential oils and products made with them. I buy oils from the Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab - they have hundreds of different blends. They even have one called 'Kathmandu' - I bought it and I think it would smell nice on Govi since it smells mostly like cedar. My favorite scent on a man is sandalwood -mmmmm....

Ohhh I never thought of essential oils. Maybe he would use that. That's not really a chemical.
