Interview - who goes?

my fiance (the petitioner) just informed me that he has to fly to Texas the last week of July. I'm sending in our packet 3 checklist a week from today - does he need to be present for the interview?

I'm frusturated because he said that if the interview conflicted with his work that WE would have to re-schedule the interview. 1) He volunteered for the trip and I can't understand why he choose that over something we've been working for the past 3 months & 2) My initial impression was that he had to be present in some shape or form at the interview but now I'm not sure.

Thanks!

Only the beneficiary is required to be at the interview.

There is no way in he$$ I would reschedule it simply because he can't be there. Who knows when you'd get another one!

Yup, you can go alone, and as long as you have all the documents you will be fine. I had my interview in Vancouver in May and everyone at the consulate was very nice, it was a breeze. No need to worry at all!

Good luck :)

Some people have posted here that the USC is not allowed to attend the interview in some countries.

Have you asked why he scheduled the business trip? Maybe it was a great opportunity or a step toward a future career goal?

I wouldn't re-schedule the interview though--why wait any longer than you have to?
