filing for removal of condition.

planning to send photocopy of 3 joint credit cards (6 total, 3 for me, 3 for my wife) (front and back).

is it safe or ok to send it?

i mean, somebody might use it (online use, hack, identity theft etc. etc) since almost all of our info are on the photocopy.

thanks guys.

No, it's not safe to send that information. I suggest taking a Sharpie and obliterating the account numbers, expiration dates, signatures and codes on the back. Better yet, think of what other evidence you have that can support your case that won't give away any more sensitive information. I cringe to think about all of identifying information the USCIS, DHS and DOS have on my kids in one file, and what problems could arise if it got into the wrong hands. I think it best to black out account numbers on anything you send them. Think about it - they have passport info, birth certificates, the marriage certificate and your life history.

I think it woiuld be better to send a bill with both names, not sure what sending a photo copy of a credit card will do

thanks for the reply guys.

i was thinking of sending the photocopy of the credit cards that has both our names on it as part of having an evidence that we share the same credit cards.

i may try to black out the account number and our signature at the back and sent the photocopy with some of the credit card statments.

oh boy, i dont know if this will be ok.

what did you guys do with your credit card evidence?

thanks

Send the bill with both names, that seemed to work for us

Exactly, I agree that sending the photocopy of the credit card is not going to help your case because I'm pretty sure that doesn't show both names on each credit card but bills does! So is much better to send the bills of those with joint account showing both name on each bills, not the credit cards photocopy!.

Good luck

When I sent the docs, I made photocopies of our debit cards trying to white out the numbers on both debit cards, & then I thought that maybe it was going to be refused it by immigration because of hiding the numbers, so I decided to just send to them the photocopies of our debit cards as they are & whatever.........I don't think they can do whatever, & I feel better to know that I might not have an RFE just because of sending something whited out........that's what I did & that's my suggestion but anybody can do & think in a different way.

Good luck!!!! :star:

You don't need to send everything, just a copy of a statement from every 6 months. I only included about 5 pages from a joint bank account.

I just sent about 40 pages in all and got approved in 63 days. (No RFEs)

I sent copies of credit cards and bank statements without deleting any numbers. The numbers of your bank accounts are on the statements. The numbers on the credit card are the same with each of our names. I have not had a problem. That doesn't mean I won't have one. To me, if you black out the numbers on your credit/debit cards, then how are they going to know it is a joint account.

I sent them without blacking out numbers as well. IMO the processing center is supposed to be a safe environment just like your bank, you do not black out numbers when handing your card to the cashier and VSC holds a lot of important numbers like social security etc.

Not saying that problems might not exist but I expect them not to happen in this situation, so hopefully all will be well.
