I am a US citizen and my I-130 petition for my mother was approved in 2001. She has visited here several times using a visitor visa and now decided to immigrate. The US Embassy at the country where she lives has purged her case. The NVC here told me that the case is no longer current. Do you know if I can file I-824 to reinitiate visa processing at NVC?

If so, my second question is which choice box to check on the I-824 form for "Reason for Request"?

Choice B - request USCIS to notify the embassy through the NVC of the non-immigrant visa petition approval. (I would have chosen this if it doesn't indicate a non-immigrant visa)

Choice D - request USCIS to send my approved immigrant visa petition to NVC. I dont know if this choice is going to make NVC assign a new case and start with sending DS3032 and AOS bill to me.

Please advice and thank you
