There are flags that come up in the application process as has been mentioned here. My husband and I have very different backgrounds but we also sailed through getting our visa in 8 months and have had no hurdles since. He's been in the US for 3 years now and have experienced little to no problems with anyone including the governement. I think you need to settle down a little bit. Also although people don't like to hear this, sponsoring a foreign spouse is a privelage not a right. The government has every right to decide who they let into the country regardless of what you think. In the end they could deny every petition and if your truly love your SO then you can move to their country or to a different country. You have no "right" to bring anyone here regardless of the relationship validity.

May 11 '09 - Case Approved 10 yr card in the mail

What if the IO is black? Have you not heard there are black people working there too?At my embassy, it was normal to hear the other black officers, yelling, cursing through speakers and being rude to people, even the security men there, black as they are insulted the Elders to the point that one old man told one of the officers that if you dont respect grey hair, you wont live long to have one.... Meanwhile the white officials were nice, cautious because they knew anything they say would be labelled as being racist! They had to be extra careful even when people did some ridculous things!

Hey sister.... things are better now, and much lighter, breathe in... then out, concentrate on gathering Evidence and being as relaxed as possible.

Black is HIP, aliens...are so not![/color]

Our CO at the Buenos Aires Embassy was a sister. Oh yes she was - a Spanish speaking sister. And she was ready to deny, deny, deny - ultimately, she didn't, but I don't care who your CO/IO is they all have their ways.

Amen to that! So many people don't understand that point.

Just reviewing the photos I took at my wifes' oath ceremony, 39 people there, only counted about 4 out of 40, about 10% that I would consider to be of the so called white race. Ha, you are picking on me because I am white. Forecasted in the next 50 years, the whites will be a minority in this country, (USA).

I do not judge people (women mostly) by race, either obese or have a nice a$$, good looking or ugly, what else is there that really matters? Should rewrite the N-400, LOL.

There is something to be considered: The state department, and specially the foreign service, are not under the rules of the USCIS, which is under the attorney general, that is an USA internal department; that is why, you do not have a real way to make a CO respond in a USA court, in matters in which they are discretionary, foreign people are treated different, they do not have the same rights than they counterpart in USA. so the discrimination is not against th USA citizen, it is towards the foreigner, you have the right to request a benefit for the foreigner to apply for a visa, (I-129, I130, etc., ), that is USCIS, and the foreigner applies for that benefit, it is he(she) who has to show that is worth of entering USA. Therefore the burden of proof is on the beneficiary. That, my dear, is a task that is run by Statistics, if in a country, mine is Colombia, the CO looks to our history, and obviously we are investigated mainly in drug, para militarism, guerrilla, that is our Karma, but is real. Other countries like Pakistan, for terrorism. I believe that although, it affects cases in particular, in the long run, intends to make USA safer.

There is a movement amongst lawyers in USA, to make the entire system under the attorney general, in that way, everybody can be made accountable write your congressman, Obama says he want transparency. Those rules that you quoted are for COs, that is for foreigners nothing anybody can do.

To the OP -stop going on like you are a victim of something and you are the only couple that has had to prove a bona fide relationship, EVERYONE has to. The only person making it ALL about an inter racial marriage is you!

THANK YOU !

IF THE USCIS WAS NOT RACIST, THEY WOULD NOT BRING UP COLOR IN THE FIRST PLACE. IT IS RACIST WHEN YOU ARE SAYING THERE IS A COLOR FOR CRIME. "ETHNIC" PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE LOOKED AT MORE CLOSELY JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE ETHNIC. WHITE/NON-ETHNIC PEOPLE CAN BE CRIMINALS, BUT TO SAY ONLY ETHNICS ARE CRIMINALS IS PLAIN REDNECK BIGOTRY. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT BECAUSE EVEN IF I AM IN A REAL MARRIAGE MY CASE COULD BE DENIED JUST BECAUSE OF COLOR. MY FEES PAID, AND MY PROOF SHOULD BE ENOUGH, BUT IF COLOR IS BROUGHT UP BY USCIS, THAT MEANS THERE IS MORE TO IT. THERE IS NO COLOR OR ETHNICITY FOR CRIME, AND TO SAY ONLY ETHNIC PEOPLE ARE FRAUDS IS BS. PROOF OF MARRIAGE SHOULD BE THE ISSUE, NOT ETHNICITY. IT IS THE BIGOT GOVT. THAT BRINGS UP COLOR.

The USA is racist period. If you prove to the USCIS that you have a legitamate relationship, you shouldn't have a problem.

March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !

June 1,2009-Manuel and I go back to the US consalate AGAIN to give them a letter from the court in Colon along with documents I already gave them last year.I was surprised to see they had two thick files for his case !

June 15,2010-They called Manuel in to take his fingerprints again, still no decision on his case!
