Actually when someone gets a government job that requires clearance, I was told that everyone, including your spouse and your spouse's family members can be checked out... That statement made perfect sense to me. Makes me wonder if that's not why my own petition for my husband is taking so long...I never even thought of it!!!

um no. if a secret clearance, they don't run checks on the spouse and family members - just the individual. now if at the ts level, yes. but i still don't believe uscis nor the state department considers the usc's security clearance while adjudicating the i-129f.

so at what point do you think its checked on? i would think the uscis does it when they run the background checks or at least at nvc, maybe?

i don't think uscis checks on it at all - the usc has periodic updates to their clearance, and one has to notify the security people of their "continued, long term contact" with a non-usc, along with that changing to them being engaged, married, and so on. at any point during this the clearance can be suspended or revoked if the agency feels the need.

who does security clearances

secret clearance

top secret clearance

aha!

If anybody investigates the spouse due to her security clearance, it will be her employer. She is required to report to them any contact with certain foreign nationals or marriage to same. They will then do the check on him if required. Most employers will NOT take background checks/clearances from other agencies, and will do their own, even though they are lengthy and costly. If USCIS did do some kind of extra checks, her employer most likely would dismiss them and run their own anyway.

.....and the EMBASSY still tried to keep black / white couples apart.

Yes, that's the only reasonable explaination.

Of course the intense questioning and attempted returned petition has nothing whatsoever to do with 'red flags' like age difference or Lagos being a high fraud Embassy post. Nope.

It HAS to be them trying to keep you from your SO. They are racist and targeting you and your SO and will do all they can to prevent you from being together because they hate the fact that you have an inter racial relationship. You are a victim of extreme prejudice. Here's a flower. (F)

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

Does anyone want cotton candy? Lolipops? snickers?

I also have Oxtail stew (celery, carrots, sprig thyme, onions, garlic, tomatoes, bell pepper etc...yummy) with coconut milk rice..

Some popcorn and soda. Pringles? Tortila chips?

Theres water too... oh for veggies... i have some onion and tomatoe sauce made with tofu, brussel sprouts, carrots and mushrooms, you can eat that with some wild african Yams!

If anyone needs anything else pls ask, cos we need some refreshment in this thread.

I wonder why its still opened.

For those with pent up emotions and ready to burst and attack...i'm preparing your meal too... you can make special orders!

Now... let the debate continue! :bonk::bonk::bonk:

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

... I think that the OP definitely has some identity issues etc and that a lot of her logic is flawed. I appreciate that there is a forum to discuss these issues. I would, however, like to address some of the offensive language used by some of those who disagree with the OP. The "black-accented" language slang i.e. weave, you go girl, my sistah, angry black woman etc etc comments are not necessary. I get that you're trying to make a point and you are upset with the OPs comments/generalizations/rants but I don't think that caricaturing the OP and those racially similar to the OP (me :)) is necessary.

Agreed, well put.

Even the most solid argument against the OP's claim is nullified when peppered with these types of comments. If you stoop to the level of the wingnut you're trying to refute, you can't expect your counter position to be taken very seriously.

Don't get me wrong here folks- I'm all for making inappropriate, off-the-cuff comments to get a rise or a few laughs out of people here, but when I do, I try not to be racist, and I certainly don't expect to be taken seriously.

By the way Koakland, I just noticed your timeline- congrats, and all the best.
