i think it is also certain types of gov clearance jobs that are under the most scrutiny and checks....

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

No more than being in the military. How many here openly post about being deployed to ? Revealing the deployment of US forces ? That is much more questionable. Who I work for is not a problem, the fact you have a clearance is a marketable asset when it comes to filling out a resume. Asking exactly what I do at work is a problem. Which is why I had the pleasure of reporting the interviewing officer at the Lagos embassy. To have the petition returned to the US because he could not detail what I do in the office was a totally corrupt method of having him fail his interview. Before that question he had answered everything correctly. The factor that the black woman had questions the interracial nature of the relationship stinks of less than impartial interviews. But the Lagos consulate earns a lot of money for their people by such tactics. They could teach the 419ers a thing or two.

Actually when someone gets a government job that requires clearance, I was told that everyone, including your spouse and your spouse's family members can be checked out... That statement made perfect sense to me. Makes me wonder if that's not why my own petition for my husband is taking so long...I never even thought of it!!!

um no. if a secret clearance, they don't run checks on the spouse and family members - just the individual. now if at the ts level, yes. but i still don't believe uscis nor the state department considers the usc's security clearance while adjudicating the i-129f.

so at what point do you think its checked on? i would think the uscis does it when they run the background checks or at least at nvc, maybe?

um, isnt that their job?..to find out the motives of the immigrant?

it has nothing to do with the color of skin of the CO conducting the interview. Do you know this is why she denied his visa? or could it be the suspect that you are older than him..didnt you say she asked about the age gap?

My husband may be asked why he married an american christian, we are prepared for these types of questions.

I'm thinking they would do it (maybe not USCIS, but another gov't agency). If someone that holds "secrets" or other information for the US gets married...it would make sense the US wants to make sure the person they are marrying will not pose any threat to national security. For example, they want to make sure he/she's not marrying someone that has anti-US interests. Wouldn't you think? I'm sure even if they do it, they keep it secret and don't let anyone know they're conducting the background check....

I also don't think the USC's SC is a consideration in the adjudication of the 129f PETITION-I do believe that in some cases, yes the potential spouse of a petitioner with certain level of clearance is checked out before visa issuance, not by USCIS, but by other ( numerous ) agencies.

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

i don't think uscis checks on it at all - the usc has periodic updates to their clearance, and one has to notify the security people of their "continued, long term contact" with a non-usc, along with that changing to them being engaged, married, and so on. at any point during this the clearance can be suspended or revoked if the agency feels the need.

But between your tax forms where you state your field of work and the company name on the W2 and employment verification that they have in their hands the interviewer knew that Joseph SHOULD NOT know the details of my job. Yet she used this to stop the visa. I am not sure what happened to her. I filed the report and it takes it's own path. Lets hope she is on toilet duty for the rest of her career.

If you have a classified position, your employer should have an unclassified description for your job. It's not that hard to be creative. B) The only time I had a problem with this was in the interview for my current job. I gave the unclassified version of course, but two of the three people on the interviewing panel kept probing deeper, wanting more details, supposedly because they didn't "understand" exactly what I did. All I could say was it was classified and I couldn't discuss it. Thankfully the one not asking more questions seemed to understand and changed the line of questioning. UGH.

When the interviewer comments of the fact we are white/black couple then when he knows all the normal answers ( what are my kids names , who is the oldest, what are my parents names. what company do I work for ) and resorts to asking that he detail my classified work so that he fails to answer a question as an excuse to return the petition it isn't imagined racisim. It exists and happened. Sorry to break it to you that think the world is all sweet happy love. RACISM STILL EXISTS and the EMBASSY still tried to keep black / white couples apart.

Where are you getting this info from?

The USCIS iMMIGRATION OFFICERS MANUAL, look it up, they have these beliefs on how to detect marriage fraud, called "marriage fraud factors"

Marriage fraud factors

Other issues involving marriage revolve around the "marriage fraud factors" passed by Congress in 1986 to discourage "sham" or marriages of convenience to get around the immigration laws and illegally obtain federal immigration benefits.

A list of factors that contribute to a determination by an examiner for the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) that the parties got married to get around the immigration laws follows:

* Rapid sequence of events (marriage, divorce, claimed death prior to filing petition ? adverse action by INS).

* Age difference -- 10 years or more.

* Prior marriages by petitioner to aliens or by aliens to U.S. citizens or lawful permanent resident aliens.

* Marriage outside ethnic or religious group.

* Marriage to "entry without inspection" alien not of the Western Hemisphere.

* Witnesses to marriage are same nationality as beneficiary.

* Beneficiary and petitioner claim separate address; beneficiary departed U.S. after marriage.

* Confidential marriage. This is a special proce-dure in California where the parties can request that their marriage not be recorded in the public record.

* Beneficiary has minor children residing abroad.

* Inconsistent or nonexistent petitioner identification.

* Excessive documentation in support of the application (e.g., Forms I-864, Affidavits of Support, submitted by relatives other than spou

Common sense flags really. They are just a flag though.

I also know that a beneficiary's country plays a big part when trying to migrate to other countries. Something not really considered in the United States.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.
