Only source of friction was the site manager (an Iranian exile) who had terrible people management skills and screamed at people who didn't do exactly what he said. Unfortunately he wasn't terribly good at explaining exactly what he wanted...

...probably a reformed terrorist.

He was a very strange guy - reminded me somewhat of Basil Fawlty.

Hokey Smoke!

Rocky: "Baby, are they still mad at us on VJ?"

Bullwinkle: "No, they are just confused."

The best bridge construction was that one that waved around and was a tourist attraction until it collapsed - some time in the 60's?

Wasn't that one in Seattle Sound? I will see if I can find it!

Not sure, it had some issues with torsional movement. Tacoma Narrows, that's the one, from the 1940's.

Man o man, now I know who to blame the 35W bridge collapse on - all those shady hispanics who us

usurped the white man's rightful place as bridge kings.

Oh no, they went out of their way to hire minorities to work on the rebuild. I'm never driving over that bridge again

actually, that failure has been attributed to poor engineering in regard to the gussets used to stabilise the shape of the span girder beams. the engineering firm that did the work had sub-contracted that segment of the analysis to some indian firm...

Oh shut the hell up already.
