Hey Everyone

Hope all is well with everyone. I had a wonderful visit with my daugther over the Christmas holidays. It did us both good to see each other. I'm hoping to get back up to see her again in April / May. As of right now, she will be coming here for the summer with a friend, which is ok by me. I'll have my girl for awhile.

That is good news but I have more. :) I posted my resume on Careerbuilder.com and received a call and an email last Thursday from Accountemps. I completed the required information for them and received a 2nd call on Monday to set up an interview. I had my interview with them today. I just received a call and will be starting a job on Monday, working 28 hours a week to start. :dance:

I'm in shock! I haven't worked in 9 months and within a week I've been hired and put on a job already. Crazy!!!!

So for anyone looking for work - I suggest you post your resume on Careerbuilder.com and see what comes of it. You may be surprised like me.

I think I wished for a job for my birthday - it worked!!!! :lol:

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
