IMBRA-could it be?

I posted on the embassy forum but I know there is a lot of IMBRA questions here.

we got our Noa1 in Dec 05' our Noa2 on 3/7/06...........................my man was told that the case was going back to the states for further processing. I also just read a post where someone was going for their interview 6/15 & they were told the same thing.

how can this law apply to us? Thanks all!

I know(well at least that is what I thought) but my man & another member got calls today telling them that the cases were being sent back here for further processing-doesn't make sense. Now my man DID have to get fingerprint clearance, but the fact that another person got a call is really making me nervous.

sorry-I don't want to freak anyone out but #######????? why would they call someone 3 days before their interview & tell them the case is being sent back? when I called them-they said "oh it is just for the fingerprint check" but something seems really strange.

I don't know what to do now

The consulars may not understand the IMBRA requirements. Get on the phone!!! Make them understand it is petitions submitted after March 6th. Not noa2's after march 6th. Good Gosh, how hard is it to educate their own government employees about this new law.

Tell me have they cancelled the interview,if so then you might have cause to worry if they havnt whats the problem,you got anything to ask them then ask at interview

This IMBRA ####### is very confusing, even the embassy has a hard time to understand the precedure. I think the embassy need to read more about IMBRA

Just called the NVC-they said that it could be the IMBRA law because it went into effect Jan 1st & we were approved AFTER that date.

I am confused-that doesn't seem to make sense compared to a lot of other posts on here. I am going to make some phone calls

This is really in sane. The priority date for IMBRA is on March 6 or after. Now it is Jan 1st? what is the correct answer?

That is what I want to know-#######?? no one seems to have a straight answer. I just called the Visa office(whatever that is) in Washington(the guy at the NVC gave it to me) he said that from what he can tell our petition shouldn't have anything to do with IMBRA-well then what is going on with Dublin????? I am going to call the embassy again tomorrow to see what they are doing & why they are sending petitions back.

I must say I am a little suprised with Dublin-I have heard great things about the embassy, but considering they didn't even know he was coming in for fingerprints that they told him he had to give I don't know what the deal is but I am certainly going to find out.

I thought IMBRA only applied to petitions filed after 3/6 too

I think the consulate confused on your NOA1 and NOA2. They thought your NOA1 was on 3/7/2006

there won't be any confusion when I call back tomorrow I am sick of waiting & dealing with screw-ups!!!!!!

worst of all-our petition expires 7/7/06-they better extend it!
