Hi,

We just received our NOAs for EAD and AOS.

They didn't use Carlos' whole name. Is that a problem? They left "Carlos" off and only used "Juan" and his two last names.

On all the forms so far, "Juan Carlos" has been used and that's what we've used for his Social Security card, adding him to my bank account, etc.

Should I have it fixed or isn't it a big deal?

Thanks,

Melanie

If his SS card is issued with his two names and just one last name, I would try to get the INS to change it to whatever the SS has.

Usually they do not consider the two last names, not for the Social or anything else, since it’s not common practice here in the US.

In my SS and my INS paperwork they took my mom’s last name away from my name (which feels kinda bad for me… but what can ya do?)

I don’t know the procedures to change the name at the INS, you might want to ask the more knowledgeable people here in VJ.

Good luck,

Ana

His social security card had his complete name- all four names.

On our bank account, he only used the two middle names- Carlos ********, which is what he goes by with his friends and family.

It's very confusing!! Consistency is needed most.

On the NOA, it says if any of the information is incorrect to contact them. I called the number on the form and it led me to a labryth of extensions and when I finally got to an area where I could have talked to someone, they cut me off because the wait would have been 30 minutes. Very frustrating!
