Packet 3 for London Consulate

We got NOA2 a week or so ago and I want to get all my paperwork in order so there's less faffing around at the last minute. Firstly, what exactly is asked for in Packet 3 for the London Consulate? I've looked at forms to download so I can fill them in ahead of time but there seems to be conflicting info as to which are needed.

Also, a question from my fiancee in the States, is the original NOA2 needed to be presented or will a copy suffice?

Any help would be much appreciated.

What's the difference between the DS-2001 and IV-15 checklist? They both appear to be a checklist.

I have no idea.

Although the DS-2001 doesn't ask for medical date, intended marriage date. It is a newish form so i was unsure if it would be replacing IV-15 checklist?!

It came up on the USE website as needing to be returned for interview...as i didn't receive my official pkt3 i saw no harm in including it to be on the safe side.

I got an IV-15 checklist with my Packet 3, so maybe they still use it...I still had to fill out all the DS forms, including the DS-2001 thingy.

You don't need to show the NOA2 original or copy at the interview.

And you should not sign the DS-156 (in duplicate) since you will be asked to sign the form in front of the CO at the time of interview. And DS-2001 looks to me just like the IV15 Checklist, but no harm in including both if you want to be on the safe side.

Here comes a dumb question from me. What exactly do they mean by DS-156- in duplicate? where we supposed to print two copies of it is it because when we cli cked continue it printed out a barcode for the same set of questions. I think I might of sent in the wrong thing now. =0(

That is not a dumb question, it was on my mind for a LONG time also...

Yes, you are supposed to print two copies of it (with the same barcode), that's all :)

ok im freaking out now because we did not send in two copies we only sent in one, and my husband signed the DS156. OMG what do we do now????? He actually printed out two copies of everything but kept one copy of what he sent in for our records. The problem is that he singed the copies that he has at home too. The only one he did not sign was the DS156k, because it says not to sign it. PLEASE HELP IM FREAKING OUT. SHOULD I ASK HIM TO REDO THE THE DS156 and send in the two copies with out signing them? Maybe this error is what is keeping us from getting our interview date. Every one else seems to have it already.

Just redo it and send in 2 copies... if you overnight it it can be there by tuesday, shouldn't be a problem, we had to send in our checklist again. just send a cover letter explaining why you are sending it again. also call DOS and ask if everything has been recieved and if they are missing anything.. seriously, not that big a deal... don't panic!!

Thank you Zoe I'm right on it. Im glad I caught this. I just called DOS this morning and they did not tell me any thing in regards to this, they just said that it was in the system but no word on any mistakes or missing forms.

so maybe it won't be a problem, but better to be covered or else it'll be another wait... you can always just photocopy the original one and send that instead of redoing the whole form? that will be sufficient as i dont think it's signed is it...

Thanks all who replied to this! I'm now a LOT more confident with my packet 3. I think it's good to pool our info and experience at this point! It's one of those moments that you just wish to have everything ready to go so that you don't add unnecessary delay to the process.

While we're on the subject, is everyone using the new ACPO Police Certificate? Apparently the old subject access forms are no longer valid. It's something that almost caught me out until I stumbled upon it by accident. I'd already arranged the old form, and now I'm waiting for the new form to come in. It's £35 but a lot quicker turnaround - 10 days as opposed to 40.
