Medical Exam Validity

What is the validity of the medical exam? I have tried searching on VJ and came across varying time periods such as 3 months and 1 year. Can anyone please confirm the actual validity?

The information would help us in taking an appointment for medical exam so that the results stay valid for K-3 interview and CR1 interview (if we need to do it again for CR1 visa).

Thanks.

AFAIK, one year. But many panel physicians will not perfom the medical unless you have the consulate case number, as assigned by NVC.

It is not wise to take medical exam before they require from you to do so.NVC or consulate should give you instructions what to bring for the interview , so you need to wait

Normally the exam is valid for 1 year, but if more time is passed than that they will ask you to do a new one again.

Good luck

Thanks for the input. The reason this question has been raised is that we have a K-3 interview already scheduled, but desire to have a CR-1 visa issued. This is possible if the CR-1 file arrives at the Consulate by the day of the K-3 interview. If we do not have the assurance that the CR-1 will be there by the interview date we do not intend to appear for the interview or submit documents to the Consulate. In that case, we wanted to know if that same medical report would be applicable to the CR-1 interview that would be about a month later.

the difference between the exams is the vaccinations... you should fulfill all the vaccination requirements as if it was CR1 otherwise it could be deficient

Ok, so the vaccinations are only necessary for CR-1 visa? I will make sure that my wife will get such vaccinations done. That's interesting, I always thought both medicals are the same. I guess the physician administering the exam would be aware of the difference.

Thanks

While I had my vaccinations for my K-1 visa , I took some of them. The second time -CR-1, I didn't have to take vaccinations at all, as I showed the doctor the sheet of vaccinations taken previously.

Vaccinations are usually take accroding to the age, so as far as I understand your CR-1 petition is on its way and soon will be there, which means that your spouse won't take vaccinations again,as she already took vaccination for her visa.

I hope this info will help u
