HI! So our GC is approved, we filed in late June 08 and all docs were received on July 8 08. We had some hiccups along the way such as finger prints didn't show up so I had to go redo my biometrics and my hubby's W2 form went missing so we had to resubmit that. But all and all, it was a smooth process with a lawyer and we were approved w/ card in production on Jan 14 09.

So here's my question, during our GC interview the person who interviewed me took my advance parole papers and my work authorization card since she said we were approved and my GC should be coming in the mail in the next few weeks. The problem is, I am going up for a great position at a multinational company right now and am sure they know the GC and working visa processes well.

Since I'm approved (with welcome letter received etc) and GC in production, can I technically get hired if I don't have my GC in hand? This is rather frustrating and I wished I mentioned it earlier that I was looking to move jobs so I can hang on to my work auth card in case a great opportunity comes up!

Didn't you receive the temporary stamp - I-551 stamp - on your passport ?

I-551 stamp should have your A# aling with 1 year validity.

And it is same as I-551 Green Card for 1 year period.
