I was able to get in touch with someone by pretending I needed to change my address, I was put through to customer service and I explained my problem the woman found my case and said that it was still pending. When I tried to ask her why I could not see it on the website she repeatedly explained to me that they are still processing cases from March of 2008... I tried to explain to her that still means I should be able to access my case and she began talking over me and repeating herself about the cases in March and since I am from September I should be expected to be patient and wait.

Her tone was so condescending and ignorant. These people have no respect for what we go through. She made me so upset and sad I feel like it will take forever for my case :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: Why couldnt they at least be nice?

You had to explain you're having technical problems and to forward your complain to the webmaster, well their website is not working at all so dont really bother ;)

I highlighted the part why they are so mean....

You were "pretending" to need something, thereby wasting the time of the people working there.

Imagine if the 1000's of other applicants call "pretending" to need something.

I would imagine I would be feel pretty frustrated myself...

Put yourself in their shoes

Hey I had the same person when I called. All 10 times =). The last time when she asked if I had any other questions, I asked her, why she was rude, and why can't she be more helpful. That kept her mouth shut. Those customer service agents need to go spend time learning how to speak with people and learn how to have empathy. Not all, but most. Sorry about your experience Mocana. Oh the last time I called I also told them how ineffective their system is and what's the point of having a customer service line when their website says the samething they tell us. Again there was no reply. :P Good luck

The way I look at it, maintaining their website information has a low priority with USCIS. In fact, for a year or more the staff has been unable to keep it accurate and up to date. I am sure the customer service people are sick and tired of people calling about something they can't do anything about. Especially when someone tells a lie to get a live voice on the phone. The lady gave you the only information she was able to give, but you wanted to argue about "the system."

It's not that they are mean.

They are only inefficient. I suspect this is mostly due to insufficient funds and/or subpar management.

It's not really their fault, and they do not hate you.

I was, "pretending" because originally I stayed hours on the phone trying to find out how to get in touch with an actual person. I asked here on VJ how I could get through to someone to help me and they told me to push number three on the menue and say that I am changing my address and then tell them your problem. Thats what I did, and I got through to a lady how transferred my call. So I didnt actually go through with the pretending, I told her I didnt know how to get to a human on that machine. And she didnt say that there is a way. I didnt explain all of this since I thought this was something common that all of us do since there is no other way to get in touch with someone.

Maybe you havent tried calling this number or maybe you havent had any problems seeing your case but maybe what you should do is be more considerate and put yourself in my shoes. If you dont have anything positive to say please dont say it I feel horrible enough already.

Ok I think you are feeling anxious and not really checking all the facts. Your timeline says your case should be adjudicated between Feb. 28 and March 16, also check some other similar timelines and you will see what I mean. So really your not behind schedule at all. Almost everyone has trouble with the online system so I wouldnt even sweat that until after the average processing times have passed. We made it through this whole process with almost all the same problems as everyone else or more. You are getting involved with a huge Govt. Dept. that is all red tape, so have patience. No one there really cares good or bad about you personally. Alright enough of my 2 cents ha

As of September 30, 2008 - they are processing cases from March (meaning they are or were slightly behind). I also sent my I-129F to the VSC and received a NOA2 a little less than 5 months after the NOA1 (which tells me two things: they have caught up with their slack, and the processing times has not been updated in a very LONG time). Just be patient.

I just called the USCIS...picked 1 for english and then option 2 about case status, then picked option 3. I got to talk with a lady and she was kinda nice but she had to forward my call to another person that was going about I129F cases...so i got to talk with a friendly man, (was all happy i had a friendly person on the line), he asked my name, my receipt number and then he said are u the beneficiary...so i said Yes. Then he told me 'i cannot give u any information because I have to speak to the petitioner'...argh!!!

So if u call, make sure that the petitioner is calling!! he at least told me that if u want to talk with one of those guys ask for an 'immigration officer' and they will forward ur call to one of them.

Every single person on here wants to be with their SO and wants the process to go as fast as possible. No one is trying to be mean. However we are supposed to be served by a first come first served basis so I could justify calling if most of your filling month had been approved and you hadnt even had a touch, but us September fillers must sit tight and wait, there are over 100 registered VJers who filled in August alone ahead of us. I totally agree that their customer service is very cery crappy and I think we should get more customer service considering the fees we all paid but one peson complaining isnt going to make any difference. And I really dont think that it is an issue of the representatives you speak with on the phone being mean, they have a crappy job to do and field complaint calls all day long. They likely are not withholding info from you because they likely dont know anything more then what you can find out online by yourself. You have already waited like 4 months since you recieved your NOA1 and should be proud/glad you have managed to maintain your sanity so far, and as my SO tells me nearly every night it will all be over soon enough and you do have the rest of your life together to look forward to. And be glad the VJ exists and you are not here alone.

omg get off it.....sometimes you HAVE to push the number for address change to get a human on the line. She did NOTHING wrong with what she did, so stop trying to make her feel like she did.

to the OP...your not the only one who has done it, as a matter of fact, when you do an address change or want info, you get the same type of customer service rep, therefore not taking up anyones time with anything you needed to find out.

It's not that they are mean.

They are understaffed....and its frustrating for THEM that they can not give you all the info you ask for...bc they are limited to what they can pull up on your case.
