How many I-134s do I need?

Hello all,

I've read through the guides and other posts on this topic, and I can't seem to find a clear answer regarding how many I-134s I will need to prepare.

My father has agreed to submit one on our behalf since I don't make enough money. Is his enough? Or do I still have to submit one myself (I'm the petitioner)?

In other words, do I need two? One from my co-sponser and one from me?

Also, (a bit unrelated) is it common to fax the approval letter from the NVC to the Embassy? I saw that another VJ member had done this and was wondering if it's recommended.

Thanks!

Our journey-

Fell in love -- 1999

Got back in touch -- 2007

Sent I-129F -- 11/1/08

Received NOA1 -- 11/5/08

NOA2 (email) -- 1/12/09

NVC Left -- 1/21/09

Packet 3 Received -- 1/30/09

Yes you will need two, one from you and one from your co-sponser.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Thank you!

If anyone has an answer regarding faxing the NVC letter...I'd really like to hear about that.

I emailed a scan of mine to the Auckland consulate, and was able to make the interview appointment based on that, but I had been in touch with them for a considerable time with other questions. Have you looked at the link to Embassy information at the top of the page? There are variances among them.

Frankly, I'd hold off on faxing them the approval notice. NVC uses DHL (which is awesome) to send everything to the embassy, which means that the embassy is likely to have the materials very quickly (in some cases, before you even get the letter).

I suspect that faxing them an approval letter with a request for expedited handling would annoy them more than anything. Up to you, though.
