10 yr gren card ordered after RFE and why we got one

Received e-mail today Green card ordered. We did biometrics in Nov. and received RFE in January. Sent in requested evidence on Jan. 15th (61 pages)

We made the mistake of not sending complete info. Only sent in parts of Tax returns and bank statements showing both names and our address. The want the bank statements (all pages). We ordered tax returns from IRS (received in 1 week) Also found old letters and cards (thank goodness we are kind of pack rats).

Anyway we are DONE!!!

that is strange on the bank statements , tax return thing.. I didn't send in the whole thing either and I didn't get a RFE.. I think some adjudicators are more strict then others...

Our RFE stated we needed to send the full bank statement not just the part showing name and address and same for taxes, even gave us the number to call the IRS to request the transcripts.

I really think it's up to the person reviewing your case.

yeah and that is another part of this removing conditions process that sucks.. shouldn't there be a guidelines to follow?.. seems like some of these adjudicators make up their own rules as they go along..

I requested 2006 & 07 taxes from IRS and sent my W2 for this year. For our savings account I sent the Bi-Annual summaries for 07 and 08 and for our checking account I sent 3 or 4 monthly statements for each of the past 2 years (all pages).

IRS tax forms took about a week to receive. Rather quick I'd say.

I also sent 3 pics of us together. It was all I had as we're not picture people. I had found some old envelopes addressed to us, a letter from my mother (not dated) A few late Xmas cards from this year. Didn't think I would need them so was glad a few were late. Also got copy of car insurance showing both of us as drivers, photo copy of bank card with same number and our individual names on them. Copy of the sale of my house in Canada and the funds transferred to our joint checking account. Copy of both our drivers licences showing same address. Copies of phone bills with both names (3 each for 07 and 08). Copy of Econimic Stimulous Payment from last year with with both names and a copy of my recent pay check showing recent address.

Hope this helps someone. You can send a certified copy of your taxes or request your tax transcripts from the IRS. The tax transcripts and COMPLETE bank statements . I also explained that I was not shown on our home ownership or mortgage as we had a good rate and did not want to renew at a higher rate. Most of the stuff I sent was requested by them in the RFE.

I figured 61 pages was enough.
