Gavin had his fingerprint appointment today. Before going in, the embassy called to tell him that there will be a delay & that his case is coming back here. How can the IMBRA law affect us? our petition was approved 3/7/06(noa2) our case was rec'd 12/8/05.

Can't take much more-seriously. He went for his fingerprint appt & they had no idea why he was there-they didn't have a record of it. I had no idea that Dublin was so screwed up. I am really upset-I though that he would have his interview soon. Can I call & ask if it is this IMBRA sh*t? I knew his fingerprints woud be coming back here-but the IMBRA law shouldn't apply to us. What can I do?

what can I do now?

Colleen, so sorry to hear this, although there is nothing I can say to help you, not understanding why this should happen, would it be possible to call the embassy and ask why, the NVC even ??? someone will come along to give you better advice than this, just try to keep your chin up Colleen, I know that it is hard but it will be sorted

Thanks munchkins ;)

I just called the embassy..................they said that his case is coming back because of the fingerprint check(which makes sense), but why woud they tell him that before he even went in? Something just doesn't seem right. I swear I am bad luck :( Should I be worried about IMBRA? i feel a little better after talking to someone there-but something still seems screwed up.

Anyway-does anyone else think it is strange that they called him BEFORE he went in? They didn't even have an appointment scheduled for him & we have been waiting since May-what is going on??????

Awww sweetie will this s*** ever end for you. Hugs.

Yes its normal for them to send the prints back to US BUT if they did not know he was coming why did they call him beforehand, surely they have a note of him coming on his records on the computer!

Im so sorry this is happening to you, i really am.

:( Melanie x

I have an update :D

They did call to tell Gavin that the petition was coming back(due to IMBRA) but quickly realized that they had made a mistake. The woman was really nice-she said they just have to wait for his fingerprints to clear & that he is on a "priority" list due to the fact that we have waited this long-our noa2 expires 7/7/06. She also admitted that he should have been able to give his prints months ago

So I find that news reassuring :D Hopefully we won't have to wait too long for the interview-we are nearly there, I can feel it. thanks to everyone for their kind words.
