wow, that's a good idea. i might have to steal it from you. ;)

make sure the links to the websites show the full link and aren't abbreviated like they are here.

do you think it would be worth mentioning about ties to home, eg a letter from work saying when they're expected back to work, or is that a bit too scary for these blissfully unaware people?

not sure, do you think they will need ties to home? maybe the invitation? some wont have my surname so the link wont nessersarly be there. and they will have return tickets too

nah i think it's unlikely, the invitation is probably a good thing to carry in their hand luggage though. this is all stuff i haven't really thought about, i'm glad you brought it up.

if they have all flown recently then i guess this isn't an issue but i'll probably need to include some info about taking liquids on the plane. i would probably include some information about the security process at the poe too, just so they know what they're doing when they get there. what do you think?

edit: oh, and maybe state that they must complete two forms on the plane?

I'm just wondering if they are coming over for your wedding, and since its a vacation. Why do they need to go to the website?

I thought travel between US and UK for holiday travel was easy just bring your passport. Has things changed? Andrew came over in August and didn't have to do any of that. When did that start?

I'm just wondering if they are coming over for your wedding, and since its a vacation. Why do they need to go to the website?

I thought travel between US and UK for holiday travel was easy just bring your passport. Has things changed? Andrew came over in August and didn't have to do any of that. When did that start?

it only happened recently, i've never had to do it.

On August 1, 2008, the Department of Homeland Security began accepting voluntary registrations from qualified VWP travelers under the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). From January 12, 2009, ESTA becomes mandatory for all qualified VWP travelers entering the United States on or after that date with the exception of citizens of the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia and the Republic of Korea for whom ESTA is mandatory if entering the United States on or after November 17, 2008.
