Hey guys,

Later on this year, we are hoping to tie the knot, and shortly after apply for a CR1. We hope to apply for the CR1 as soon as we can after getting married , and I hope to be able to stay in the U.S for as long as I can, as a visitor. *IF* VSC hurries the heck up, and it gets approved before my visit is over, is my visit going to cause any issues at the Montreal consulate? Such as proof of bona fide marraige, since we wont have any emails, phone records etc since I had just been visiting him and flew up from the US for the interview since it got approved before my visit was over?

And once approved from Montreal, how long does it usually take to receive the CR1 in the mail?

And one more question (sorry for all the questions!!!!) Does anyone know what all the costs are, for either applying for the K3 and the CR1? From initial applications, to the end (not including citizenship)?

You have a number of options, the only prob is no matter which one you choose, you'll probably have to stand in line and wait. The K-1 is the faster option but you'll have to pay more money (don't know the actual cost)-once you get the K-1 come to the U.S. and get married then file the Adjustment of Status and you can stay but there's additional paperwork to fill out. The K-3 time is suppose to be quicker than the IR-1/CR-1 route but only at the NVC level but more expensive than the IR-1/CR-1 along with the additional paperwork. The IR-1/CR-1 takes longer but is the cheaper route and less paperwork. To be honest, if you get married first, do the visit thing (90 day visitor visa) and then file the K-3/IR-1/CR-1 petitions, from what I have been told, once you file for those petitions, the chances of getting the visitors visa are slim to none. Just make sure you have someone to check your mail back in your home country if something comes in you will have access to it. Just some words from my experience. I hope this helps, just take a look at other forums on here as well to help you make your decision. Good luck to you.
