Hello! You may want to put a couple things into consideration about the ones who got approved prior to you. Perhaps they did medical expedites or their spouses are in countries with unrest. About calling USCIS to speak with a rep you simply press *1 or *9 after the voice message has spoken all the options. I always talked directly to VSC by telling them I had not received a hardcopy of my NOA1. Good luck!

calling USCIS is a pain in the A$$. You have to keep calling them until you ran out of patience.

You have to call them at least 8:20 AM EST. at 1-800-375-528

Just be patient. I can see that you are in VSC and not transfered to CSC.

Just hang on, your approval is coming soon.

Hey man,

I feel your pain. I sent petitions for my wife and step-daughter back in June 2008 and I've seen many people get approved before us. I tried expediting their petitions due to the border clashes that were close to the area where my family resides as well as the protest in their capitol city and USCIS basically just left us hanging. My home of record is in the state of California but with me being in the military I don't live in California anymore, I have to move around, so USCIS won't process our petitions at CSC. I am still waiting, by the time we get approved I'll probably be deploying so that'll be more time away from my family, I just pray that I'll be able to return to them once they get their visas. Hopefully the letters from my Commanders will push their petitions through and they'll get their visas. With USCIS you just have to be lucky.

Another way to get a live person (this is how I get though) is to go through the case status system. It'll ask you to enter your receipt number then read out exactly the same info as is on Case Status Online. After it's through reading to you, it'll tell you that the information you just heard is the most up to date available and that they don't have any further information, that they will write to you when a decision is made, etc, etc. After what will feel like an eternity of trying to persuade you to hang up :P you'll be asked to press a number if there is a 'problem with your case' (I think it's three). The annoying automaton will then read more options to you. Just pick the closest to your issue and it'll put you though to customer service. You can also just tell them that none of the problem options applied to you - they don't seem to mind.

Adjustment of Status from K-1 (Very abridged version)

05/20/08 - POE: Chicago O'Hare

07/18/08 - Married

08/30/08 - I-485/I-765 mailed...

03/17/09 - Card production ordered (no notification received!)

03/26/09 - Green card received (196 days)

Removal of Conditions

02/15/11 - I-751 mailed to VSC...

02/22/11 - NOA1 (received 03/03/11)

04/04/11 - Biometrics appt (notice received 03/19/11)

08/22/11 - * * * t u m b l e w e e d s * * * (T+6 months and counting)

09/20/11 - Service Request #1

10/26/11 - Service Request #2

11/29/11 - Interview @ Atlanta Field Office - Approved & I-551 stamped

12/07/11 - Card production ordered

12/10/11 - Green card received (293 days)
