I'm in the 90 limit to remove my conditions, i don't have much proof as our situation has been difficult for the past 2 years.

I have been looking into the affidavit thing, the problem is i don't really have any friends that have known us for the duration of our marriage.

Would an affidavit from a family member be appropriate?

The past couple of years has been hard for us i'd go into detail but i don't want to bore you lovely people.

The affidavits of support is just one item you need to prove a relationship. They really look for financial items more than anything. So, send copies of tax returns, joint checking or savings accounts, joint credit card bills, and any other financial contracts that you and your spouse have completed or applied for.

Some people don't provide the letters of support from friends and still get approved. But, to answer your question, yes relatives are okay if no one else is available.

Also, photographs of the two of you at different events, family or other, is a great method for showing an ongoing relationship.

Good luck.

I was kind of in the same situation, none of our friends had known us for the duration of our marriage.

In my case, I did not submit any affidavits at all and was approved speedily. I did however have a bunch of other docs. What do you have? If you confirm (generally, no need to go into details, just a list of 'joint lease', 'joint tax returns' etc) what you are submitting I am sure people will be able to advise/put your mind at ease =)

Best wishes

Well we just got the conditions removed today so, I guess I can speak on this. We moved right before we had to file so, we also didn't have any friends around to fill out affidavits so, my sister and her 18 year old son each did one for us. While we provided framework for what to say we let them talk about our relationship in their own words, even allowing for the 18 year old say it in an 18 year olds language. I don't know if they helped but, we only turned in what was listed in the instructions and no more.

My updated signature is:

Married on January 25th 2006

Moved to Finland for 6 months

Now back in the US before her 6 month limitation occured

Just had a brand new baby September 28th 2007!

I-751 Receipt July 28, 2008

Second child due October 28th 2008

Yes, my affidavits were from his mom & dad. But we sent a lot of joint financial proofs so I don't know whether they even looked at the affidavit or not. In our case, I was not on the lease (and only 1 joint electricity bill) so I needed the affidavit that we live together.
