A couple of months, but in the mean time we have The City! Have you been watching it?

I have. Not crazy about it just yet. But I started slowly with the Hills too. Really not digging Bromance though. I (L) Whitney - so I'll stick with it for now.

Oh yes, I'm a Hills/City addict... I like the City, not as much as the Hills mind you but it will tide me over until Hills comes back!! I just really don't like Jay, he seems a bit shady...

Thank goodness, I'm not alone. My husband said I'm way outside the demographic for that show by like 13 years. I feel validated now. Thanks Jill.

hehe my husband teases me too for watching "teen" shows, including the new 90210!! I'm not a fan of Bromance either, I love Brody so wanted to get into it but it's rather ridiculous!!

I wonder where they get these attitudes and ideas from.

I think some people just watch too much BS TV shows and base their ideas on that and also on what others are saying instead of actually get to know people for real, that's all .. lol

Most of the time people tend to generalize and do not think there are good and bad people everywhere in the world. They just see the world in black and white .. there is no Grey area to them.

Of course, they have the right to think whatever they want, they just make their life harder thinking that way !

I honestly don't can't say I've seen many tv shows that would teach you American women don't make good wives or that they care too much about their careers..or that they aren't good lovers...or that they can't cook..etc.

Do you know what I'm saying?

I have been reading some of these threads lately. I find that the men that are busy trashing american women are also the same ones that are making their wives an object rather than a loved one. This is really sad for the wives IMO.

I haven't read this entire thread, so sorry if I repeat. But I saw that one person stated that the man finds a woman that fits into that category and so he now blames them all. Very likely, but I have another one for you. I will be the example.

I was married for 15 years, had 4 kids with him. I was his "prize piece" on his arm. Blah. He was very emotionally abusive, and I was just a very naive nice person at the time. Well after 15 years of this I got fed up and divorced him. I had completely shut off any love for him, it was gone, and I was not open to bringing it back. I had had enough.

Since the divorce I have heard him call me pretty much all of those things in those threads. Pretty funny if you know the entire truth.

Myth-I wanted wanted wanted. Truth. I am so freaking cheap that I had a measuring cup that had a tear in it. I could hold it together when measuring liquids, so why get new? Does this sound like a person that has to have the latest and greatest in fashion? Hardly

Myth-I am high maintenance. Let's see. I taught my daughters how to do my hair. I do my own repairs around the house. I fix my own car. I do painting, tiling, yardwork, sprinkling systems, you name it. Perhaps I am confused, but wouldn't a high maintenance person expect this done for her?

Myth-I had tons of money and was milking every dime from him with child support. Let's see, I had 4 kids and he paid me $585.00 a month for all 4. I had 3 jobs because one job didn't meet the bills. He is the one that was self employed and lied to get the child support so cheap. He even laughed to his own children how he had supplied them a phony tax return. Eventually he stopped paying all together.

That is just the tip of the iceberg.

I guess you get the idea. It doesn't even mean that they what they are saying is true. It may mean that they man is trying his hardest to make his ex look like a real beeotch to make himself feel better.

I now have a sweet husband that treats me like a queen. I still do my own painting and tiling cuz that's just who I am, but he is right by my side while I am doing it.

The ex, on the other hand, has remarried a very nice lady. She has to have 2 jobs because he won't work......And he said that I am high maintenance?

Lol. I'm jealous of both of you in that case, cuz I'm neither tall and blonde, nor do I have nice tanned skin...I'm afraid of the sun, it burns so bad!

I agree with you though that men can be stupid about their ex's. My ex bf used me for a place to live, got mad when I told him to get a job cuz I couldnt pay for everything (i was paying about 1500+ a month to support the 2 of us) but then when I lost my job and we had to move in with my parents he couldnt be bothered to pay for me (which would have been a whopping $500 total for him to pay which gave us food, internet and shelter)...lazy bum. He then proceded (after I kicked him out for looking for women behind my back...he wanted a new suga moma I guess) to say that I never wanted to go anywhere or do anything (maybe cuz I was broke and he wouldn't pay for me) yada yada...I couldn't believe it. Whatever helps him sleep at night I guess, though most of the people he was friends with no longer speak to him after learning what he really did.

Good riddance I say! In ways though don't you think that these experiences are building blocks to the kind of person we become? I am much stronger and much wiser now. My husband, although very good, knows that I have boundaries, and what not to cross. Perhaps I have gone too far, but I just won't be a door mat any longer to anyone.
