Okay...understandable. But one or two shows isn't going to manipulate the minds of thousands upon thousands of people. Not to mention, these shows would not be available in their home country so they wouldn't be getting those thoughts until they moved here to the US.

My thinking is, is that it is the significant others that they meet which tell them this false information and feed them these generalizations. Then they get a complex that has them being superior wives and women to american women. It is just really strange in my opinion.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

I think you overestimate the reasoning ability of some people

Honestly, that thread is lame, lame lame lame. That last poster and his height weight stats - who the hedoublehockeysticks cares - lame I say!

Maybe - there are a few men on that thread who've grown up with moms working outside of the household and they're resentful for it? Their fathers told them about the god 'ol days when their mom stayed home and tended to the house and kids. They wish they had that and as a result see women outside of the house as self-centered egoists who only care about their career. Maybe add in a failed marriage or two and they presume it was their ex-wife/wives' fault.

As for women outside of the USA, I have no idea how they would form their opinion. Too many tallcoolone's on the internet and in their community on Man-Ho vacations . . . . . . I dunno. . . . . .

It's all very strange to me.

I would have thought that too but a few of the posts I've read mentioned things like americanized women expecting the man to fix any financial problems while their Pinay wives would help out by getting over time....which means they would be working and not at home. *shrug*

I just wanted to jump through the computer and slap those boys. Yes boys, not men. They are acting like 5 year olds. I can't believe they actually believe what they do, but its no wonder that they can't find anyone over here that is happy with them, we can see right through their disguise. I read the post on the IMBA forums too (was bored) about the guy who is contemplating putting in a fourth K1 App cuz the previous 3 didnt work (2 bailed and he sent the last one home) cuz hes just shopping for a bride online due to his "views". It makes me sick that these people are so arrogant and that people like them are what holds people who truely love each other back from being able to be with the ones they love.

I only did to read the jokes cuz I found them very amusing. Its amazing how many of the people on there have the same anti-western women ideals. I told Wes about the posts last night and he was amazed at them...but then he added in "yeah I could have something better than an American woman....MY CANADIAN!" lol.

These guys are just insecure pigs, thats all. This whole talk of finding a submissive wife who is skinny, and who won't leave him blah blah is just their way of trying to find a cover up for their own deep issues.

They are shopping for a fantasy, its quite sad.

I have spent a whole lot of time reading this forum in the past few months, but I rarely post. I guess I'm a lurker. But I find this subject to be fascinating, like in an 'I'm so glad that's not me' kind of way.

I was thinking pretty much the same thing as what has been said about the men feeding false information and generalizations, and the women developing a complex as a result. And to expand on that thought, it seems to me that the men with these deluded attitudes are soooo insecure that they have convinced themselves that all of the broad generalizations are true. They could never bring themselves to admit that maybe they've had problems with American women because of their own attitudes and ideals. I figure that rational people wouldn't take some isolated bad experiences with women who do fit the generalizations, and translate those experiences to something that's true of everyone. And of course, these don't seem to be rational people haha. I can't even pretend to understand the mindset of someone who has the attitude that local women suck, so they have to actively pursue finding a foreign spouse of a certain "type". That's just crazy to me! You know, for some people, they describe it like they were shopping from a friggin catalog!

And I suppose for the women who believe that all or most women of their nationality are "better" than women of another nationality, and that's why certain men actively pursue them for marriage, I figure either they are just delusional or naive. Or maybe they've convinced themselves of their 'superiority', because it's probably more comfortable to believe that than to believe they are being pursued by trashy men who see them as a utility (love slave/maid/baby factory, or whatever), rather than seeing them as someone to not only be cared for but also cared about.

These douchebags who want a bride to be a certain size and be submissive remind me of a certain person on MrsCat's favorite t.v. show The Hills

That was a secret! **! :crying:

And yes, they do smack of Spencer the Douche Pratt.

PS: When's the new season coming out?

I have. Not crazy about it just yet. But I started slowly with the Hills too. Really not digging Bromance though. I (L) Whitney - so I'll stick with it for now.

Thank goodness, I'm not alone. My husband said I'm way outside the demographic for that show by like 13 years. I feel validated now. Thanks Jill.
