You just don't get it. I am not surprised as I have seen you do this time and time again. Absence of support for your inane generalizations must necessarily (in your mind) equal support for whatever it is you are saber rattling at. When will you get that this is not how things work?

This reminds me of a stereotypical discussion with PD. Why don't you show Luckystrike how he is wrong then? If you are going to accuse someone of generalizing or making a false statement, should you not have evidence of your own to show that their statement is wrong.

For example, if I said British girls are ugly, you would stereotypically say prove they are or that I am grossly generalizing. Fair enough, I am not denying it but I would think you would actually prove me wrong rather than just saying I am wrong, dumb, moronic etc etc etc. As witty as you are, you are also smart. So I would think you understand what I am trying to get at.

No but your comments are stereotypical PDish. That is discredit but never provide proof of your own.

If someone said the earth is flat you might try actually showing them that it is round rather than simply stating they are wrong, dumb or generalizing.

In case you missed it, I wasn't trying to 'discredit' an opinion. I merely said that being intolerant is not confined to the 'ignorant savage'. How hard is that to understand? Obviously, it's really quite a difficult concept for both you and LS.

I understand what you are saying. I also know that at the sheer hint of a culture, demographic, country and race, some automatically throw out labels such as generalizing, stereotyping or that the poster is just ignorantly racist.

Generalizing would be the case if someone said all Brits are lazy. At the same time you cannot negatively label someone stating that Brits work the least amount of hours per week, when compared to other English speaking nations. And if you don't agree with that, then prove them otherwise rather than simply stating they are wrong. A stereotypical PD response.

Whereas when it comes with you, you constantly feel the need to rebut. How many times do I follow you around for the sole reason of rebutting you? almost never.
