Hi Everyone,

My husband has his AOS interview on Feb. 2nd and I have some questions… if anyone could help… I appreciate it.

In the letter we received, it asks again for his Birth Certificate. We already sent a certified translation with the AOS packet. Do we have to have another certified translation with us? Or a copy of the one we sent will do?

2. They asked to bring an interpreter if he doesn't speak English.... he speaks some but not fluently and obviously I'm going with him. Do we have to take an interpreter anyway?

3. The letter states to bring "all documentation establishing your eligibility for Lawful Resident status", beside the fiancé visa in his passport and all the documents we submitted for his AOS... What else could they mean?

Thank you for your help.

The letter does ask for things you have already submitted. Bring your copy of all documents previously submitted.

Translation - you cannot translate for your husband. Can he answer questions like: when did you arrive in the US, do you work, do you go to school. The worst questions are on Form I-485 which you already submitted which has questions like - are you a communist, are you a Nazi, etc? You already answered no when form was submitted, but they like to reaffirm your answers in person. I gave these to our translator to practice with my husband for the interview because the words are not easily translated.

The visa is based on the relationship with you, so need to prove you are a couple. This interview is not as strict as removal of conditions, but common address, joint health insurance, pictures, etc are types of proof.

We had a good experience at our AOS interview in SF - hope you do too!! Remember - no cell phones!

I'll be having that experience too. !

Im excited and at the same time nervous.. since my husband is in the army and he is being deployed.

and from what i asked, i cant go to the INterview alone.

I have to go with him, since it's based on MARRIAGE!.

My fear is that im gonna have to postpone the APPOINTMENT i get until he gets here within his 2 weeks vacation.

Hope there is not any problem with that.!

Good luck to YASI,

and please share your experience with us!.
