My wife and her 6 year old daughter arrived on November 7th with a K-1 and a K-2 Visa. We were married on 12/31. Both of their medical exams are still valid.I am just finishing up the AOS paperwork. All I really have left is the vaccination records for the I-693 need to be updated by a civil surgeon. Her daughter arrived here with a paper from immigration stating that we had to do a follow up exam with the local health department. I guess her skin test was positive for TB and we were required to do a follow up exam. They have taken chest x-rays on two occasions and found nothing to be concerned about. They even gave us a card stating that she could enroll in school, but would always test positive on a skin test for TB. My question is, will someone have to put all this TB information onto an updated I-693, and if so, will it be the local health department, or a civil surgeon. I have called USCIS three times and have gotten three different answers. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi tampamike,

The I-693 is filled out and sealed in an envelope by a CS. You do not fill it out.

In addition, if someone tested positive on the TB skin test in the past. They are not given a skin test and sent to get x-rays.

We have already gotten x-rays at the public health department on two occasions. They cannot sign the I-163. Does this mean that a civil surgeon is going to charge me for a third x-ray so that he can fill out the form. The ones at the public health department were free. Maybe I don't need them at all and only need the vaccination records transferred. USCIS gives me a different answer every time I call them.

The civil surgeon will not charge you for a third x-ray. Just take the results of the previous x-ray with you and give it to the civil surgeon. They will input the results on the I-693 form and give it back to you in a sealed envelope.

I concur. Take all of the records from the health dept. to the Civil Surgeon.

We have the same situation...my daughter also came out positive with the TB skin test. My husband being in the Army we went to our medical provider and relay the information. They did not perform the skin test anymore. They just took blood sample and gave her medications so that she will not turn out positive when they test her again for tb. Hope this helps.
