K1 Visa travel - Which ticket should I get?

Hey all.

This is my first post, but I've used the forum for a while since my K1 has been processing.

I got approved for my K1 yesterday which is awesome, waiting for the courier to deliver my shiny new visa. I am hoping to fly out next week, and am trying to work out what ticket to get?

It breaks down like this. A one -way from Heathrow to JFK is £500, and a return is £250, makes loads of sense right??? I am under the impression I must stay in the USA for a minimum of 6 months to a year before flying back, which is fine. I am looking to buy a return ticket to save myself £250, but the farthest ahead I can book the return is 10 months. If I fly into the US to stay for a minimum of one year, but have a return for 10 months, will that be a problem?

I have no intention of using the return part of the ticket, but buying it saves me a load of money.

Buy whatever's cheapest. The airline doesn't care, they are making money out of you whatever you buy.

I'm taking the same trip and doing the exact same thing. Buying a return ticket with no intention of using the return ticket. Best I have been able to do is £308, where did you find £250?

I found that flight on BA.com, they have a sale on, return to JFK from Heathrow for £258.
