Hi everybody,

I am wondering if anybody else is waiting for a decision on I-751 for more then a year. We filled with VSC on 12/14/2008.

So more then one year and one month.

Why is taking so long for such an easy case? California Service Center is processing I-751 in two months. Vermont takes its time!!!

Just venting folks!

However, we have an Infopass app. for tomorrow, at three days before the one year extension expires. We'll see what they have to say.

It is ridiculous that it takes VSC 6 times longer to do what CSC does in processing the same applications. I haven't been waiting as long as you - only 11 months - but I am quickly reaching the stage of contacting my Senators and Congressmen and complaining about this ridiculous state of affairs. You might want to contact yours as well. It is time VSC started to be accountable for what they are supposed to do - empty promises just don't cut it anymore.

Good luck to you, and I agree, this sucks big time.

Yes we applied. But that doesn't make it any easier, until you have something in your hand that clarify the immigration status.

Naturalization might be at another year away. So I don't hold my breath.

I'll go tomorrow to my Infopass app. and let you guys know.

Count on me guys. I've been approved my GC for 3 months and never gotten yet even a welcome letter. They sent my GC 4 times, 3 times returned as undeliverable because they sent to another States even we always keep calling and gave the right address. And on Jan. 15, 2009 they mailed it again for the 4th times and until now I haven't received it. :crying:

OK, so we went to our Infopass today. We got lucky and had an actual immigration officer. We told him that my wife's GC will expire in two days and she need further proof of status. He asked us for a valid foreign passport, but my wife didn't have one and couldn't get one from the old country, from other reasons. Then we asked him if we can get some other kind of proof, and he asked my wife for a passport photo and stuck that on a I-94 form with the big red stamp on it, valid for 6 months. That was good enough for us.

Prior to this Infopass app, my wife went three times before asking the same thing, but got no results. One time she was told that the card is in production, just to get rid of her, I guess. Other time they said that they don't issue any I-94's, never heard of it.

Really, it does matter to whom you speak. Better hope for a knowledgeable guy at the other end of the counter.
