First, I do hope ArubaDolphin's case is straightened out in time.

Second, I hope Bangkok and Montreal USEMs speed things up! If Mommy is still waiting and her case was completed Feb 3, then what about us - we aren't even CC yet and we're in Thailand! Seems BNK and Montreal are busier than the Manila embassy??? I could swear there were/are more applicants in the Philippines! Although that's a great thing for all the local folks there like MMW. :)

ao_cons, I hope that your case got completed soon.

About the interview, from what I know it takes about 14-15 weeks to the interview date after the date that case is completed. So I think I should expect the interview date about early May.

As for the Medical, if you are in Bangkok, then Bumrungrad is the best choice, they have very great service.

Good luck.

Hey guys, here's my update:

I called via the AVR and apparently I have missing documents. grrr. I have to call and speak to an operator today, because they were closed by the time I called the AVR. I probably know what they think is missing, my husband's ORIGINAL birth certificate. But there is no way I can give them his original. Here in Iran you use your birth certificate for EVERYTHING, going to the bank, getting a library card, EVERYTHING. So I specified in my cover letter that I couldn't give them the original due to these circumstances, but that I would bring it into the interview. I just hope I can get this mess cleared up ASAP. I can't afford to waste more time. Pray for me guys!!

magpius, good to know you have your interview date. We envy you!

Mommy, I too would prefer Bumrungrad since it specializes in international patients. But I think the USEM will decide what is the approved facility.

MnM, can't you get a certified copy of your husband's BC instead?

ao_cons, There are only 2 hospitals in Bangkok that USEM allows for the medical, Bumrungrad and BNH (Bangkok Nursing Home)

No, I can't get a certified copy--they only provide one copy here. Certified copies are basically a duplicate, and they don't provide those in Iran. Btw, so I called the NVC yesterday and they guy was like, oh we're missing your DS-230, I told him that I'd sent that in a week ago. That's when he said, oh, I guess they mailed the RFE before they put your DS-230 into the system. But do they really give out RFE's for an ENTIRE missing packet? I thought it was only if one part of the packet was missing, like documents that they requested along with a form. He's like don't worry, that message will just be on the AVR until we review your DS-230. Has anyone else had an RFE like this?!

M n M yes they do give out RFE for the entire package. If your AOS is reviewed and your DS-230 is not there, the system auto generates an RFE.

I got the same false RFE. Track your package, and make sure it was delivered to NVC. With the recent wave of approvals, they NVC is probably behind in getting all the files into their system.

I was thinking that the emails would be sent as soon as the interview is booked. Should we call next week in addition to waiting for the email?

Folks, I called earlier and wasn't able to contact an operator. The AVR told me they found missing docs and that they mailed us a letter March 12 explaining what it's about. Sounds like an RFE. :crying: Does it sound like a real one or just a false RFE to you? Has anybody gotten a message like this via AVR? Please reply.

Obx what the operator told me was there is no specific timetable for them to send the email version of the interview letter and that mine is due to be sent next week. My hard copy was mailed on the 4th and still hasn't be received.

Ao That sounds like it might be a real RFE. Did you send both packages in the same mailing or separate? If you mailed them separately it may be a false one because the packages may have been scanned separately.

MMW, we sent them separately. The AOS was delayed (I guess due to a bad storm that hit the east coast that time) and the DS-230 got there first. We know for a fact both are there. And the thing is, last time I called was March 13 here (evening March 12 there) yesterday, Friday, and the guy said it's still under review. No mention of RFE. I hadn't gone through the AVR that time since it eats up phone minutes. Only today.

Hi all,

Well we are so close to the end of the road here and glad our case is at the Embassy and the interview date is set. So we should be happy but unfortunately life is life and we got a real dose of it today. My wife has her interview the end of April and was planning her medical the first of April. Today i had a routine checkup with a cardiologist here in the Philippines because i am here to be with my wife for her visa process. I had 2 heart attacks back in 2004 and have had no problems since then. all my checkups have been fine until today. I had an Echo gram done and it shows a clot in my left ventricle. The doctor here advised my wife and I that i should get back to the states as soon as I can for treatment (i feel good) but the doctor is basing that off this test and doesn't have access to my total file. So I will be contacting my doctor back in the states Monday for his opinion. But my question is what are the chances of getting her interview asap based off this? I will go back no matter what because that is not an option for me to chance it and stay till end of April. My wife of course wants to leave right away with me to be there to support me in the needed surgery (probably open heart). Is there a possibility we can get it early and who do i call or what do i do? I am an emotional wreck right now and the wife is in worse shape than me as you can imagine.
