Yes OBX that is true in some cases but as for the Philippines and US Embassy Manila, there is not a lot of people here that have shot records maintained like in Canada or the US so SLEC, the ones that do the medical for Philippines just will determine what shots are needed by age and any records that may have been provided by the applicant. Then they will just administer the needed shots and the cost since so many need them are part of the medical fee here.

here it what the Embassy websire for Manila says about the shots

On May 2, 2008, SLMCEC will increase the medical examination fee by U.S. $30.70 to cover the costs of administering the currently available new vaccinations. The new medical exam fees will be U.S. $213.35 for adults (15 years and older) and U.S. $185.35 for children (under 15 years of age).

Thanks for the info - that's good to know.

In Toronto I will pay $275 and I believe the MD in Vancouver charges $350!!! And that's with no extras!

(Of course that is in CDN$ so with the exchange I suppose it's comparable :D)

Thank you MMW and OBX re: medical.

I am in Thailand so we'll have to follow the USEM rules here in Bangkok. I have no records of my shots. I don't know what types of vaccinations they woudd require either. Does anyone have an idea how much this will cost? My husband and I are just starting to heave a sigh of relief after paying the AOS and IV bills. :) Is this going to cost several hundred dollars more?

As for packet 3: I looked at it again and it seems to be the same docs as in the IV and AOS packages. So I guess we weon't need it.

Re: interview package. We plan to bring the IV package once it's returned to us, proofs of relationship (emails, pics, etc.), interview letter, medical report, passport photos and passport. Plus of course my husband as ultimate "proof" our marriage is bona fide. :D Would that be enough?

I think the vaccinations required are standard but there are different requirements depending on your age. Check the link to the website for the Toronto physician on my last post.

To get more info try posting on a regional forum for others who have had their medical in Thailand.

I am planning on bringing the following to the interview (whenever that may be  )

Copies of all forms we have submitted (I-130, DS-3032, I-864, DS-230)

Copies of the receipts of payment for the IV and AOS bills

Extra copies of birth, marriage, divorce and police certificates.

Interview letter, medical report, extra passport photos, passport

Package tracing our relationship, photos, cards, emails, telephone bills etc

OH yes...one more thing...my husband

AO i just checked the Embassy website for your place and they don't have any info on the medical procedure for Thailand but the cost is standard 213.00 USD converted to the local money. You will have to call the CO at the Embassy to ask if the shots are included in the cost of the medical.

Thanks so much, guys. I agree it's a good idea to make copies and bring them along just to be sure.

$213? Oh, well. I will call them and ask. Still tracking our packages via UPS. I hope the total medical won't be too expensive! But we're all nearing the finish line!

Hi friends,

Is NVC close today? Cause I called them this morning around 8am but it said NVC is close....Just wondering..

I want to talk to operator if they already got our AOS and DS230 package, cause i talked to them last week and said they haven't got it yet. But USPS website says it's already arrived Feb.26 11am there...I'm very worried why they haven't got my package yet..

Perhaps they are closed due to the weather; there is a major winter storm along the entire east coast today.

if your package arrived on the 26th it probably hasn't been scanned yet since the 27th was a friday and then the weekend. it normally takes at least one day from time it is delivered to be scanned.

What is mean by this?

I called NVC and AVR message says: NVC received our biographic forms on Feb.27, and NVC will wait the petitioner to return the AOS Fee Bill and AOS form...WE already paid the AOS and also send AOS together the DS230, why they still need that? Im confused

Don't worry if u have already sent it...If u r confident that u have sent all the papers along with the barcoded coversheet after the bill's been paid, u should be fine. And try to talk to an operator. It is more likely to be a false RFE...

Good Luck..

BTW, I thought NVC is closed today...R they working on cases?
