Listening to NPR (Chicago) at this moment and they are talking about the thousands of cars and tons of stuff in warehouses piling up in California ports because the world's greatest consumers – U.S.ians (yes people living in the U.S.) – have stopped shopping.

Well, obviously they have not completely stopped shopping...you know what I mean.

Here we go again.

The stuff piling up in warehouses comes from the Chinese but we can't them that because Chinese also live in Singapore and Taiwan. Taiwan is also called the Republic of China. We should refer to people in China as People Republicans to make things clear and stop insulting folks in that part of the world.

The stuff piling up doesn't come from gnomes. A lot of it comes from a country and we can all get silly about what to call nationalities.

I actually agree with the sentiment that too many people spend money on things they really don't need and hopefully people will reorder their priorities to becoming smarter consumers, saving their money and forcing producers to make more useful products in the long run.

Yes, this last sentence of yours is exactly what I believe is sorely necessary.

The items that are piling up include vehicles...thousands of them.

And China does not make vehicles.
