Marriage practice in US with regards to "middlename"

When a lady marries, which one is commonly used as middle name in ph (after she is married)? Is it our (current- as single) surname?

Or its like what the US practiced (is it mandatory, anyway? ) wherein the surname (current) of the bride is being dropped and the "middle name" (our mothers maiden name) becomes now the middle name.

If ever, i dont want my surname to be drop- i prefer it to be my middlename once iam married.

Did all those who are now married to their USC fiance'es dropped their surnames and are noy using their mom's maidenname to be their middlename?

My wife used her single surname as her new middle name. Example; Ruchie Villegas Salvoro to Ruchie Salvoro Martin.....

Same here. My middle name is the same as when I was single.

Well, my middle name fits perfectly with my husband's surname. Here, I guess they can used any middle names they want.

American's don't normally change their middle names due to marriage, it's usually kind of an honorary name... my brothers and sisters are mostly named after aunts and uncles... and the middle names were just ways to fit more family members names to us I think.

I personally like that maiden name becoming the middle name tradition of the philippines... though it's apparently a little more work to make it happen in america since it's not how it's normally done here.

Thank goodness....it seems its not mandatory. i got lil worried after we discussed this yesterday....no big deal i guess but i prefer my surname to be use as middlename after.

normally in ph- when a lady marries, she takes the hubby's family name and her former surname becomes a middlename.

of my understanding- in US, maybe not all, the lady's surname is dropped and her mom's maidenname becomes the middlename w/c isnt what i like to happen......anyway, it looks like theres an option based on others answer here. thank you all
