I submitted a K1 visa petition to USCIS/VSC and received a NOA1 receipt dated September 10, 2008. When I go online to check the status, the USCIS website gives me the message:

"Your case can not be found at this time in Case Status Online. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283."

When I call the above number and enter my case number, the recording tells me that my number cannot be found. On top of that I cant figure out how to talk to a real person using that number.

Should I be concerned that I cannot see our status?

probably some issues with their computers, to speak to a live person, call the USCIS number and when the computer mention something about address change option, just choose that, i should be option 3. then a live person will answer the phone and you can explain it to them (even though you are not changing address) they are open until 6pm anytime zone, so give it another shot!!

Dont be too worried..there are several filers especially November ones that have the same issue, myself included. We spoke to someone from the USCIS regarding this matter and they did confirm they were having issues here and their with the website and they told us to call 6 months from filing to follow up on any updates regarding our case. So as for our case number, i gave up on trying to see if it works, we'll call them in a few months to see whats up...

So next month will be about 6 months for me . . . I hope I just get the NOA2 instead of calling them to find our some terrible news like they lost my file or something... But if not I will call next month. Thank you for your advice :)
