one money order for $1000

and the other one for $365!!

AOS fee is stand alone...if the OP wants to buy a money order in the amount of $1000 ....where is $10 go to? you cannot add $10 to I-130 fee and make it $365.... this will likely get rejected.

I will say that it's better to buy a separate money order for AOS fee ( $930 and $80)...this will work out as well

I would still not recommend this, rather do 3 in that case

$930 + $80 + $355

keep the I-130 separate, it may have worked for you, but others have been rejected for combining the AOS and I-130...

03/01/2007 - POE - JFK (L-1 Visa)

01/15/2008 - Proposed

03/15/2008 - Married

09/02/2008 - Sent AOS Package (I-130, I-485, I-693)

09/03/2008 - Received - Signed by SMITH

09/04/2008 - Checks deposited

09/10/2008 - Checks cleared ($1010 + $355)

09/12/2008 - 2 NOA's received (I-130, I-485) - Dated 09/08/08

09/16/2008 - Received notice for biometrics appointment on 09/30/2008

09/20/2008 - Biometrics done - Walk in (Orlando) Took 10 minutes

09/22/2008 - I-485 viewable online (pending, of course)

09/30/2008 - Biometrics Appointment (2pm)

12/30/2008 - Received Interview Letter

02/25/2008 - Interview

03/06/2008 - Welcome Letter received (the website will clearly never send me updates!)

Hi,

I CANNOT find any places where I can buy a money order for $1010. The maximum amount they sell is $1000. I know that we have to pay $930 for the I-485 application fees and $80 biometric fees. Is it ok if I buy one for $930 and one for $80??? Would that matter?

OR can I get a casheir check instead? It doesnt say in the instruction that I can use a casheir check so I am not sure.

P.S. Writing a check is not our option.

You are right. I sent in 2 cashiers checks--ONE FOR $1,000 AND THE other for $10.

It is easier to use a personal check, you can track it being cashed easier too.

If adjusting status from a K-Visa all you pay is $1010 for I-485, I-765 (EAD) and I-131 (AP for K-1)

If adjusting status from an other type of visa like Student/Visitor/Work, the fee is $1010 for I-485,I-765,I-131, and another $355 for the attached I-130.

We had the same problem so we bought ours from the post office ($1.50 per check vs. $5 per check at Bank of America) and then sent them with a little note explaining the situation and so far we haven't had any problems. Good luck!!
