I just got an email from my second-choice nursing school inviting me to schedule a face-to-face interview. This is the last step in the application process and I'm very excited.

However, I've never interviewed for a school before. I have interviewed for various menial jobs, but I suspect that's more of a well-she-passed-the-drug-test schtick.

Sooo...any advice? has anyone on here interviewed for nursing school? What kind of questions might they ask? I'm so terrible at "selling myself" -- especially when diversity is suuuch a big issue with schools these days and I'm your typical white-bread, upper-middle class American.

Tell them you are just there to shave

Kidding...I really don't know what in the world they would ask you but as long as you are being sincere and as long as your results show your dedication you will be fine.

Hannah -- sometimes the best answer is "I don't know; but I would like to know". Having sat on scholarships committees for a while, I can tell you I appreciate much more an honest candidate that recognizes her shortcomings than a self-serving asssskissing know-it-all.

Good luck hermana!!!!

Not sure for nursing school, but med school they asked me to tell them about myself, asked q's about stuff on my application, a few ethics questions (if a fellow student cheated what would you do), nothing too major. Come across as normal, personable and competent and you should be fine.

Thanks guys. (Len & Tav stop flirting in my thread! ;) )

I think I'm just worried about coming off as socially retarded. I'm fairly introverted by nature and I used to have very big problems with social anxiety. I don't want them to think that they're educating a future serial killer or anything..aahhh.

Pretty much what is said here. They want to make sure that 'their' time investment in you as one of their students would result in avoiding having bad things said of you and as a reflection, them.

HannaP... best wishes on your interview.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.
