Hi all,

I am an Indonesian live in Indonesia, and my fiance is a USC lives in the US.

Is it possible if we get married in Singapore (or any other country except Indonesia and the US) and file DCF for CR1 in US Embassy Jakarta/Indonesia?

I am new here, and I apologize if perhaps this topic had been discussed before. I have browsed and just couldn't find it.

Thanks for sharing any related info.

I am not sure about Jakarta/Indonesia, but normally you cannot DCF until you have been married for 2 years....

Actually, you do not have to be married 2 years before you can file DCF. There are countries, Australia & New Zealand are two, where the USCitizen can enter the country, marry their fiance and then immediately file the I-130 petition at the US Consulate abroad.

Read your Embassy/Consulates website and contact them to see if they will allow DCF for you. They have an email address you can use.

Read the DCF Guides first.

Hi

You can do DCF in Jakarta without residency requirement on the USC part. I do not know if getting married in other country (outside of Indonesia) will complicate the matter (IMHO should not, but I can be wrong).

Easier to do is to call up the embassy asking for info on this matter.

Good luck
