Hi Everyone! My husband and I are in the process of preparing our application to lift conditions on my residency. Last year we moved to SC leaving our house in IL on the market, we stayed in a hotel for 3 months then jointly leased an apartment for 3 months, before finally coming back to our house in Il which would not sell, when my husband was offered a transfer back with work.

The problem is I never filed form AR 11 but as we lived at 2 addresses other than our original address (which we continue to live at), I need to document those addresses on the application form to lift conditions.

I understand in retrospect that it is "the law" to change our address with USCIS within 10 days of moving; but what should I do now we are back at the original address. What penalty might there be for not doing so?

Thanks!

At this point there's nothing you can do. It could up during lifting conditions; if so, I think if you explained it the way you just did, people would understand.

hmm i remember when we bought a house - we were super excited (first time homeowner) and forgot about reporting our new address. I actually reported 6 months after (AR11) and I did not get any penalty or something. Not sure if thats the case for everyone.

Here is a convenient way to report new address:

Good luck
