Hello,

I would like to know what could be the implications of changing the employer during the adjustment of status. Several reasons could be listed here: the employer gets out of business, is bought by other company or simply the employee decides to leave that employer for another company in the same specialty of occupation. Do you need to reapply again by submitting another I-485 packet (I-485, I-765, I-693, G-325, I-131)?

Thank you.

Thanks for your answer. I-864 was not needed therefore was not be included in the package. Therefore you mean that should be no problem since I-485 was correct at the time of filling?

I-864 is required. I haven't heard of a case where it was NOT required. From which visa are you adjusting?

AOS Approved on 10-17-08 (details in profile)

Removal of Conditions on 07-19-10

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.

Submit an Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) if your adjustment-of-status application is based on your entry as a fiancé(e), a relative visa petition (Form I-130) filed by your relative, or an employment-based visa petition (Form I-140) related to a business that is five percent or more owned by your family.

Adjusting from H-1B? Then a job change may be a problem

YMMV
