Ceremony today is all well and good (though I shudder at the grotesque expense) - but there are sobering realities that will have to be dealt with tomorrow.

Today! The President gets into the WH at 5pm. He's no office worker, he doesn't get to take the rest of the day off

I dunno - Bush was on vacation for how many months after he took office?

Perhaps Obama can retreat to Hawaii for 6 months "Have a few people over" to help him "make some decisions... some initiatives" and comment that its "amazing what you can do with fax machines and telephones".

They can't get a big enough aerial view of the crowd. CNN has ordered a satellite picture.

CNN just pronounced this as the WORLD'S INAUGURATION...and you think this won't be an eternal part of history?

Considering the world couldn't vote for president, its not their inauguration, unless somehow Obama becomes emperor the world. It's a historic event but I'm not surprised that black man won the election. Like a lot of people, I grew up after the civil rights movement and believed anything was possible for anyone in America. It was a question of finding a candidate acceptable to the majority of voters.

Yeah.

Imagine, once we're done with the ghey civil rights thing currently underway, we'll have a flamer President!

And I'll be an old man by then and will be busy decrying the moral decay of America.
