I was interrogated in Amsterdam also. They unpacked my carryon and went through everything in front of everyone, emptied everything out and flipped through paperback books. Security guy unwrapped the caftan I intended to get married in in the US, held it up, and inspected every fold. Funny thing is this was the morning after I missed a flight due to RAM arriving late in Amsterdam (with an aborted landing), so they put us up in a hotel and brought us back to the airport the next day, whereupon security asked me WHY I had missed my flight the day before. When the female security officer was flipping through my books, she picked up a copy of Aesop's Fables in French that I had bought in Morocco -- I was very sad to leave and needed something to occupy my brain. She asked if I could read French, and I told her I could read a little. Then she pulled out the other book, which was one my husband had given to me, the only English paperback novel he had -- some sort of Harlequin romance type thing, but hubby hadn't read it and didn't know what it was. The officer looked at me funny when she pulled that out.

They did similar in Paris coming back the first time, but they weren't as thorough. Seems like a passenger told me there was something on my ticket (a string of numbers or something) that indicated I should get inspected more closely, but I don't remember what that string of number was or even if that was true -- my guess is that's just a rumor.

I think the "did you pack your own bags" thing is pretty standard around the world, though. I'd heard of that before I went to Morocco the first time, and the day I left Morocco, it caused a little tiff with my husband because I asked him to leave the room while I packed so I could answer the question honestly when they asked. He thought I didn't trust him.

So is he off and flying as we speak?

Maybe wear a "BEBE SPORT" hajab hehehehe

Well after a distance from home while traveling the salats are cut in half so when he prays it will not be so long. I should mention to him to find the prayer room for that though. I wear hijab and always am pulled aside for "random" security check. I had one in Amsterdam that was the 3rd one right at the gate. The passengers were boarding and I had to prove where I had been, with whom I had been with and where I was going and my attachments I had in the U.S. Alhamdolilah I had pictures of everyone on my camera to show them but they had completly surrounded me and almost missed the plane.

And I have a U.S. passport so I don't think it matters if he has a u.s. visa and I am as homegrown American looking i think as you can get??? well minus the hijab hehehehe
